It was previously reported that Zack Snyder’s “Army of the Dead” movie sponsored the WWE WrestleMania Backlash PPV, which took place a couple of weeks ago, and the deal reportedly included the zombies as well as WWE legend Batista narrating the opening video package for the PPV. The film stars WWE legend Batista, which is now available on Netflix.
According to reports, WWE received a big million dollar payday for the “Army of the Dead” sponsorship deal, which led to the Zombies Lumberjack Match at the WrestleMania Backlash PPV, where Damian Priest defeated The Miz. The report also indicates that WWE President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan is the person behind the deal coming into fruition.
It was also mentioned in the report that Khan brokered the deal for more than $1 million, but there’s no word yet on exactly how much the WWE received in the sponsorship deal. Despite this turning out to be a good thing for the WWE, the Zombies Lumberjack Match received negative reactions and comments by at least one mainstream media outlet over the use of the zombies as well as Bray Wyatt, Chris Jericho and Batista. The Miz would also end up suffering an injury during the match.
