WWE Reveals They Filmed John Cena’s Last Match Using A Nintendo DS

As previously reported, WWE legend and 17-time World Champion John Cena faced "The Ring General" GUNTHER in the final match of his career last weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event. During this last match, Cena put on an incredible performance; however, he shockingly tapped out to GUNTHER's sleeper hold.

After the match, the WWE locker room emptied to the ringside area to show their respect for Cena. Undisputed WWE Champion "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes and WWE World Heavyweight Champion "The Best in the World" CM Punk handed Cena their belts, allowing him to take one final victory lap around the ring with his old titles.

Cena then took his final bows, removing his shoes and armbands and leaving them in the ring. He walked out of the arena, saluting the fans and expressing his gratitude for their support over the years before exiting Capital One Arena.

In a newly released video, WWE revealed that Cena's final match was filmed on a Nintendo DS portable console. The caption for the video reads, "This is gonna be a crazy late-night find one day… 😂" There is currently no explanation as to why WWE used this unconventional method or which specific model was used, but it does not appear to be a new Nintendo 3DS XL.
