-- Below are various news and notes and that came out of this weekend's WWE Royal Rumble:
- Despite rumors suggesting that she would be a surprise entrant into the women's Rumble, Becky Lynch was never planned for the match and in fact, wasn't even at the show. She is still expected back in the very near future though, in time for WrestleMania.
- Meanwhile, Charlotte Flair was locked in as the Royal Rumble winner at least as of last week and is expected to challenge Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania.
- Despite her denials, Jordynne Grace was in Indianapolis by Thursday evening and was planned for the Royal Rumble almost immediately after her TNA contract ended.
- Former AJ Lee, WWE Divas Champion and the wife of CM Punk, was not expected at the event but WWE officials continue to state that they would welcome her back with open arms if she wants to return.
- Nia Jax eliminated nine women but was actually planned to eliminate even more than that.
- There was no strict timing that WWE implemented for the Royal Rumble entrances which is why both the men's and women's matches went well over the expected 60 minutes.
- Petey Williams, TJ Wilson and Kenny Dykstra helped produce the women's Royal Rumble while Shane Helms assisted with the men's Rumble. Despite being named in Janel Grant's amended lawsuit against WWE, Michael Hayes was backstage and working his usual role.
