WWE Rumors: Dean Ambrose's Heel Turn, New Wrestling Promotion & more

The following are news and rumors from Justin Barrasso's column with Sports Illustrated

-- With his heel turn on Seth Rollins on Raw, Dean Ambrose should see himself back in the world title picture for the first tie since 2016. Ambrose and Rollins are also current tag team champions who "hate" each other, which is reportedly a theme that Vince McMahon likes to use dating back to the Attitude Era days.

-- Sources indicate that the plan is indeed for Braun Strowman to win the WWE Universal title at Crown Jewel before he embarks on his next feud against fellow monster, Drew McIntyre. It was noted however, that when it comes to Lesnar, anything is possible which would be an implication that it's not out of the question for Brock to sign another short-term deal with WWE and win the title back.

-- The story about Chris Jericho and Jim Ross leading a group of people to start a new wrestling promotion with the financial backing off billionaire Shad Khan is not true. The report suggests that the story is more about leverage as it gives everyone from Jericho to the Young Bucks to Kenny Omega to negotiate a better deal, especially if they have discussions with WWE.

-- The Young Bucks' contracts with Ring of Honor expire in December 2018 and Kenny Omega's contract with NJPW runs out in January of 2019.
