WWE released more than two dozen wrestlers following WrestleMania 42 including all members of the Wyatt Sicks as well as Aleister Black, who they recruited back from AEW not that long ago.
In the latest PWInsider Q&A, a theory was floated around about how some of the releases, specifically those mentioned above, were due to one or more TKO executives not favoring "darker characters."
Mike Johnson addressed the question noting that the story has been "bouncing among talents" that someone in TKO isn't a fan of those types of characters and that much of the blame for the release of the Wyatts and Black is being placed there. He added that one person, presumably in WWE, also wondered if that is the reason that the Undertaker "Deadman" gimmick is all but gone and that the only persona Taker is shown in these days at promotion appearances is as the American Badass.
