WWE Set To Receive Huge Tax Credits After Hosting WrestleMania 41 In Las Vegas

WWE is set to receive significant financial incentives for hosting WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, including $4.2 million in film tax credits and a $5 million site fee.

The Nevada Governor’s Office for Economic Development and the Nevada Film Office approved WWE’s application for $4.2 million in transferable film tax credits earlier this month, according to Nevada Current. The credits cover roughly 12% of the estimated $33.7 million production budget for the two-night WrestleMania event at Allegiant Stadium, along with three additional nights of wrestling at T-Mobile Arena.

Interestingly, the $4.2 million in tax credits accounts for more than half of WWE’s projected local spending on labor and business expenses.

Separately, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority approved a $5 million site fee for WrestleMania 41 back in May 2024.

Breaking Down the Budget
WWE’s application, dated early March, outlined the following estimated costs:

$2.4 million for local stagehands

$2.7 million for out-of-state “below-the-line” labor

$17 million for out-of-state “above-the-line” talent (such as John Cena and Cody Rhodes)

$5.3 million in in-state non-labor expenses

$8.6 million in non-Nevada expenditures

$260,000 for local security workers

The company projected that five recorded events would employ 450 Nevada workers for a combined 22,100 hours — averaging an hourly wage of about $121.71.

Non-Labor In-State Spending
The $5.3 million spent within Nevada includes:

$3 million for miscellaneous costs

$855,000 on hotel stays for freelance workers

$369,000 for talent lodging

$323,921 for equipment rentals

$106,000 on catering

$40,137 for props, stunts, and gags

Some expenses, such as talent payments and venue rental costs, were redacted from the public application — a common practice approved by GOED. However, spreadsheet totals suggest around $62,000 was spent on building rentals and related costs.

Both nights of WrestleMania 41 took place at Allegiant Stadium, and the event was heralded by TKO as “the most successful event in WWE history.”
