-- This past Friday's WWE Smackdown was an enormous success in final ratings and viewership data released today. The two-hour show which featured the Trials of Roman Reigns generated an audience of 2.561 million (just barely the second most watched episode of the year after the June 2 show got 2.563 million) while in the 18-49 demographic, Smackdown surged to a 0.76 rating, the best figure in nearly three years. In fact, the time Smackdown drew a better rating in 18-49 was in December of 2020 following an NFL lead-in and if you exclude that show, it is the best rating since March of 2020. As expected, Smackdown was the top rated show on Friday night across the board.
-- In a comparison year-over-year, Smackdown was up over 20% in overall viewership and a staggering 62% increase in the 18-49 demographic.
-- AEW Rampage, celebrating its 100th episode, was down in the ratings charts on Friday, averaging 368,000 viewers - the lowest since June 9. In the 18-49 demo, Rampage drew a 0.12 rating, a reasonable figure compared to recent weeks. Year-over-year, Rampage was 20% in the demo and the audience ticked down 14%.
