Saginaw's own Alicia Taylor doing the ring announcing.
Sami Zayn vs Dominik Mysterio
Good opener with Sami getting the crowd going. Dom is really good at getting heat and definitely had some here as well. Both guys worked hard. Not a lot of near falls. Dom did the typical heel stalling outside the ring. Sami won with the Helluva kick. Match went about 11 minutes.
Zoey Stark vs Becky Lynch
I really liked this match. Lot of back and forth with the "yeah, boo" exchange. Zoey did some good selling here. Both women had some near falls with Becky winning via the man handle slam. Match went about 12 minutes.
Omos w/MVP vs Akira Tozawa
Omos came out with MVP. MVP offered someone in the crowd $10k if they could knock Omos off of his feet. He commented on how people in Saginaw were "economically challenged" and could barely afford a ticket. He did flash some money but I could not tell if it was real or not from my vantage point.
Numerous people in the crowd stood up to try and get a chance at the money and then Akira Tozawa came out for the match.
Had a few comedy spots in this one. MVP did the "Classy Freddie Blassie" cane shots 3x to Tozawa, which was awesome for us nostalgic fans. Tozawa did manage to get Omos in a choke hold and then got him down to one knee, but that was it. Memorable spot in the match was when Omos was outside the ring on the floor and launched Tozawa over the top rope. End was when Omos did a choke slam after about 9 minutes.
Damien Priest vs Cody Rhodes
Other than Seth Rolllins, Cody had the biggest reaction of the night. Cody had the robe/gear he wears on TV and did not short change anyone. Match was back and forth. Cody would up for the bionic elbow but we didn't get to see it as Priest blocked it. Priest removed the turnbuckle in one of the corners. As the referee was going to put it back on Priest grabbed the MITB briefcase and hit Cody. Referee turned around for the count, but Cody kicked out. End was 3 Cross Rhodes. Match went about 14 minutes.
Cody hung around ringside and signed autographs/posed for pics and also grabbed the mic and acknowledged Alicia Taylor is from Saginaw and let her have a hometown moment.
Intermission
Nia Jax vs Raquel Rodriguez
Unfortunately, not a good match. Nothing smoothe here. Raquel tried to get her up for a slam a few times, but was unsuccessful. Nia did the Rikiski stinkface in the corner that got a babyface reaction. End was when Raquel was down and Nia did a backwards sit down from the second rope. Finish was flat. Match went about 4 minutes.
Intercontinental Championship
Gunther (c) vs Chad Gable
Two really good wrestlers that could definitely benefit from not working the "WWE style" match. Their match on Raw a few months back was much better, but this one wasn't bad. Lot of chops by Gunther and decent amount of mat wrestling. Gable did a lot of suplexes that got a good reaction. Crowd was into this one. Gunther went for a splash off the top rope, which Gable moved out of the way. Put on the ankle lock, which Gunther rolled into a small package for the 3 count. I liked this match, but was not a fan of the finish. Went about 14 minutes also.
Main Event
WWE World Championship
Seth Rollins (c) vs Drew McIntyre vs Shinsuke Nakamura
They shut down all of the house lights and also the lights on the stage for this one. Gave it an extra main event feel. McIntyre worked babyface in this match and pandered to the crowd when there was a 2 count he asked the crowd and they held up 3 fingers. Lot of high spots and breakups when the 3rd man would roll into the ring and break up the 3. Rollins did the tope suicide dive out which the crowd popped for. End was McIntyre hitting the claymore on Nakamura, then Rollins rising up, breaking it up, and then hitting the curb stomp on Nakamura for the 3 count. Match went about 20 minutes.
After the match, Rollins offered to shake Drew's hand but he slipped out of the ring, playing to the storyline on TV.
Overall, it was a solid show. Not anything great, but I would say good. Nice to see the tour hit my hometown.
