WWE Talking Smack Full Recap

Hello again wrestling fans, and welcome back to the Talking Smack Recap! After Friday Night Smackdown came to an end, WWE taped another episode of Talking Smack, which is hosted by Kayla Braxton, and her co-host, Paul Heyman. The guests on today’s edition of the show will be Kevin Owens, Sonya Deville, as well as Rey & Dominik Mysterio. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, it’s time to talk some smack!

Talking Smack (5/8/21)

Kayla kicks off the show by welcoming viewers back to the ThunderDome, and introduces everyone to Paul Heyman. Heyman seems frustrated about Cesaro earning the opportunity to challenge Roman Reigns, and he reminds Kayla “we’re supposed to be subjective”. Kayla reminds Paul that he always talks about Roman Reigns, and he tells her “ I only show biased when it comes to Roman, and that bias doesn’t mean I’m wrong”. Kayla shows Paul a clip of the way Smackdown opened, and asks Paul if he has anything to say about it... Heyman doesn’t say a word, and Kayla brings on the first guests, Rey & Dominik Mysterio.

Rey & Dominik Mysterio

Kayla claps for their arrival, and Heyman looks bothered, before shaking both guys hand. Kayla begins by asking Dominik about his match on Smackdown, which he says “was very exciting.” Rey adds to that, stating “he got the job done.” Kayla let’s Rey & Dominik hear what Dolph Ziggler said on Smackdown, when he called Dominik “Rey Mysterio’s little kid.” Dominik reminds everyone that he’s 24, “not 16”, and Rey talks about trying to make history as a father/son duo. Kayla warns Rey that Dolph and Roode are “formidable opponents”, and Rey explains “we have a chance to become father/son champions, and that’s huge.” Kayla wonders if Dominik ever thought he would be in this position, back when he appeared as Eddie’s son, and he tells her “not in a million years.” Heyman chimes in, and talks about the Mysterio family history of “always proving people wrong.” Paul tells them “one way or another, you have 8 days until you’re opportunity is in front of you, and I wish you the best of luck.”

Sonya Deville

On the other side of an ad break, Sonya Deville is already at the desk. Heyman tells Kayla “she has a huge crush on me”, and Sonya looks confused. Kayla quickly moves on, and asks Sonya about dancing with Teddy Long. Sonya tells her it was fun “we got to make some cool decisions.” Kayla points out that Sonya made decisions on her own, and Deville explains “I’m passionate about what I’m doing. I said I would work my butt off to be here. If anyone takes that the wrong way, they are misunderstand me. I’m trying to make decisions to the best of my ability.” Kayla wonders if maybe Sonya is on a “power trip”, and tells Deville “you have a smugness about you.” Sonya corrects her, and says “I’m just doing my job, and Adam is doing his job... I guess.” Kayla begins to apologize for the questions, and Heyman tells her to stop what she’s doing, before calling Kayla “diplomatic”. Paul makes fun of Teddy Long, and adds “Adam Pearce raised his voice at you”. Heyman continues, and says “its time for you to stop being so nice. Draw the line in the sand! Take control of each show, and step over Adam Pearce. End of lecture... because I love you.” Kayla tells Sonya to “marinate” on the comments, and Deville closes by saying “I’m not the girl you think I am.”

Kevin Owens

After a final ad break, Owens is already at the desk. Kayla tells Owens Happy Birthday, and Kevin tells her “it was a great birthday.” Owens goes on to to talk about “another good birthday”, and tells a story about riding with Sami Zayn, Big Cass, and a mystery fourth person. Kevin goes on to say that person is Roman Reigns, and Owens adds “I would never do that with Roman now... because people change.” Owens continues, and talks about making his Raw debut. Owens explains that when people don’t know someone, the person gets loads of “animosity” towards them. Owens goes on to say that he ran into Naomi, Tamina, and The Uso’s at a Waffle House, where the four of them paid for his meal, even though they didn’t have to. Kevin spins all of that into talking about how Jey Uso “was manipulated into being the asshole he is now” by Paul Heyman, and Owens says “my point is, people change. I’ve changed, and something else that changed is that when I was Universal Champion the first time, I didn’t enjoy it.” Owens says where he’s changed is “when I become eh universal Champion again, I will enjoy it. If Roman keeps the Universal Championship if Cesaro wins, I don’t care, I am not going anywhere.”

That’s all for this weeks Talking Smack Recap! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day everyone!
