Hello again wrestling fans, and welcome back to the Talking Smack Recap! After the most recent episode of Friday Night Smackdown came to an end, WWE taped another episode of Talking Smack, which you can watch now on the WWE Network. Talking Smack is hosted by Kayla Braxton, and her co-host, Paul Heyman. The guests on the show will be Kevin Owens, Bianca Belair, and Adam Pearce. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, it’s time to talk some smack!
Paul Heyman kicks off the show, and he has a message on behalf of Roman Reigns. Heyman says Reigns will compete in a triple threat match at Wrestlemania, and calls that “the worst decision in history”. Heyman tells the viewers Adam Pearce will be here this morning, and he has “so much to say” to Adam. Heyman introduces Kayla, and she’s much more happy than he is. Kayla talks about all of the most recent happenings on Smackdown, and reminds everyone that Wrestlemania is 2 weeks away. She then tosses things back over to Heyman for his “morning rant”, and Heyman wonders if Kayla has any “compassion” for his bad mood. Heyman explains to Kayla that anything he has to say, he will “say it straight to Adam Pearce”. Kayla runs down the list of all of the matches announced for Wrestlemania so far, and brings on the first guest, Kevin Owens.
Kevin Owens
Owens joins the show, and shakes hands with his good friend Paul Heyman. Owens says he’s “overjoyed”, and talks about officially having a match for ‘Mania. Kevin talks about the career parallels between he and Zayn, and explains “we’re more like brothers than friends”. Kevin goes on to say that “it was hard to make your name” in the area they were from, and adds “the Sami I’ve seen over the last few months isn’t the Sami I know”. Owens continues, and tells the hosts “in the ring he is one of the best, but he lives in an alternate reality”. Owens says he’s going somewhere with his brief rant, and says “I get to knock sense into him, and I can’t wait to do it at Wrestlemania”. Owens calls that “a dream come true, but it will be a nightmare for him”. Kevin finishes up, and Heyman tries to ask a question. Owens cuts him off, and makes a few underhanded comments in reference to their recent issues, and he wonders if Reigns will walk out of ‘Mania as Universal Champion. Heyman guarantees that Reigns will win, and says “that’s not a prediction”... but Kevin cuts him off and says “it’s a spoiler”! Owens then reminds Heyman that Money In The Bank is the first special event after Wrestlemania, and implies that he may try to win the match.
After Kevin leaves, Kayla welcomes on the next guest, “The EST of WWE” Bianca Belair.
Bianca Belair
The 2021 women’s Royal Rumble match winner joins the show, where she is a “regular now”. Kayla asks how excited Bianca is, and Belair tells her “I’m feeling good, I’m feeling great”. Kayla asks about Sasha hitting the backstabber on her, and Bianca explains the “lesson”. Belair says “my goal is to ft to Wrestlemania, but I always have to watch my back with Sasha”. Kayla tells Bianca she has seen more an edge from Belair, and Bianca explains “I’m the EST, and have been since NXT”. Bianca says “it’s two alpha females” competing at Wrestlemania, and it’s all about the titles. Kayla asks about Sasha calling Bianca a rookie, and Belair mentions “I’m the bell kid on the block, and I’m tired of proving myself”. Heyman interjects, and tells her “you’re never done proving yourself”. Heyman congratulates Belair on her year so far, and explains “this is life at the top”. Heyman go on to say “you have to give up the desire to be friends with anyone in this industry, because Sasha Banks will never be your mentor, or friend”. Heyman adds “if you win, Sasha will come after you with all she has”. Heyman tells Bianca “with this wisdom I want you to come back on this show as Smackdown Women’s Champion”. Paul finishes by telling Bianca “if Sasha wants to look at herself as someone who lost to a rookie, you go be that rookie”. Belair leaves, and the segment ends there.
Once Bianca moves on, Kayla welcomes on the final guest, Adam Pearce.
Adam Pearce
The Smackdown GM(?) starts off by shaking hands with Heyman, and tells the hosts “it’s nice to see you”. Things get tense between Heyman and Pearce, and Heyman begins to express himself. Paul tells Pearce he would like to “Passover the mistake you have made”, and questions why he would have Edge and Daniel Bryan face off against Roman. Heyman goes on to say that “in a handicapped match, Roman would mop the floor with both of them”. Heyman adds “in a triple threat match, Roman Reigns doesn’t even have to be pinned to lose the championship”. Heyman questions why Pearce would put Reigns in that situation. Heyman explains all of the things that could wrong, and he’s really panicking. Pearce seems proud of the match he’s made, as he smiles and nods the entire time. The classic Heyman rant continues, and he explains to Pearce that “the WWE Universe pays to Roman Reigns”. Heyman finishes up, and tells Pearce “you’re not allowing the public to see what they want to pay for the most, which is the all time greatness of Roman Reigns”. Pearce responds, and tells Paul “I’m blown away right now”. Adam tells Paul “the fact is, I never looked at it that way, or saw it that way”. Paul asks if Adam will rescind his decision, and Heyman tells him “not a chance in hell”. Pearce tells Heyman “see ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya”, and leaves. Heyman continues his rant, and sends a message to Edge and Bryan. Heyman asks “what makes you think Roman isn’t capable of sending Edge right back in to retirement”. Heyman sends the same threatening statement to Bryan, and the show fades to black.
That’s all for this weeks Talking Smack Recap! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day everyone!
