Hello again wrestling fans, and welcome back to the Talking Smack Recap! After Friday Night Smackdown came to an end, WWE taped another episode of Talking Smack, which is hosted by Kayla Braxton, and her co-host, Paul Heyman. The guests on today’s edition of the show will be Shinsuke Nakamura and Apollo Crews. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, it’s time to talk some smack!
Talking Smack (5/22/21)
Kayla kicks off the show by welcoming viewers back to the ThunderDome, and introduces everyone to Paul Heyman. Heyman says “I’m not a morning person”, and Kayla sarcastically replies “I don’t think you’re an afternoon person, or a night person either.” Heyman goes on a rant about how good he is, until Kayla asks “are you done?” Kayla then mentions that the company is returning to live events soon, before covering a few highlights from Smackdown. Kayla wonders how Heyman feels about what happened between Cesaro and Rollins, and Heyman responds “I don’t have dog in that fight.” After the opening comments come to a close, Kayla runs down the list of today’s guest, and sends the show to a break.
**Commercial Break**
Shinsuke Nakamura
“The King of Strong Style” joins the hosts, and he’s wearing his crown. Kayla tells Shinsuke “it looks way better on you than it ever did on Corbin.” Nakamura makes comments in Japanese, and Paul agrees. Paul adds “this will trend on social media for a week.” Kayla opens the discussion by showing Shinsuke video footage from his own Instagram account, and he makes comments in Japanese. Paul wants to know about Shinsuke’s beef with Corbin, and talks about a potential match between Nakamura and Reigns. Nakamura answers in Japanese, and adds “promise.” Kayla thanks Shinsuke for stopping by, and she seems confused... Make that two of us.
After Nakamura leaves, Heyman says “if I were to hold a promo class, I would show them what he just said.” Kayla then sends us to another break.
**Commercial Break**
Apollo Crews
The Intercontinental Champion joins the show, and he’s assisted by Commander Azeez. Apollo begins by saying that what matters is “how he is feeling,” which is still like a Champion. Kayla brings up that the odds were against Crews in the match, and he agrees. Crews states “this is still mine. I am a warrior, and I am built for these moments.” Kayla asks “what’s on everyone’s mind”, and Apollo cuts her off. Crews says everyone will soon see “their Intercontinental Champion soon.” Kayla regroups, and asks about the return of Aleister Black. Kayla thinks Aleister helped Apollo as a part of deal with Black, and Crews tells her “I don’t know what you are talking about.” Kayla presses Crews for receiving help, and Commander Azeez gets upset. Heyman stops him from hurting Kayla, and she says “if I say anything you don’t like, take it out on him(Paul).” Heyman chimes in, and tells Crews “I’m envious.” Heyman says “I had plans for Aleister Black, and he ghosted me. He disappears, and now...” Crews wonders why everyone thinks he has an alliance with Black, and Apollo says “all I can worry about is this(the title).” Crews tells Azeez “fire up the jets”, and they both leave.
Paul Heyman
Before the show comes to a close, Paul Heyman gets a moment to speak about whatever he wants. Kayla shows Heyman a graphic for next weeks match between the Uso’s and Street Profits, and Heyman explains “who the right hand man” of Roman Reigns is. Heyman goes on a rant about Kayla “yak yak yaking”, and talks about how great Roman Reigns is. Paul adds “sooner or later, Jimmy Uso will have to acknowledge his Tribal Chief”. Heyman questions what happened to others who “stood up to Roman Reigns”, and he gets “something straight.” Heyman explains that at Wrestlemania, Roman Reigns gave us “the Wrestlemania moment of the decade,” when he pinned Edge and Bryan simultaneously. Heyman closes by paraphrasing, and says no one is on Roman Reigns’ “tier”. Heyman finally stops “yak yak yaking” about Roman, and the show fades to black.
That’s all for this weeks Talking Smack Recap! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day everyone!
