Hello again everyone, and welcome back to the Talking Smack Recap. The Intercontinental Champion Big E joins the desk tonight, as well as the WWE Woman’s Tag Team Champions Asuka and Charlotte Flair. The show will also be joined by Daniel Bryan, who is making his way back to the show he once co-hosted. Tonight’s hosts are Paul Heyman and Kayla Braxton, and it’s now time to talk some smack!
Kayla welcomes us to the show, and wishes us all a merry Christmas! She then introduces us to her “extremely festive” co-host, Paul Heyman. Paul wonders if that’s a “jolly fat guy joke”. Kayla mentions that the new Intercontinental Champion Big E will join us later, and transitions into talking about the main event of Smackdown. Kayla tells Heyman she “doesn’t think it’s over”, between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens. Heyman responds, and explains to Kayla that “if you’re not in first place, the view is all the same”. Heyman continues, and claims that Roman Reigns is better than Owens in every way. Heyman puts an end to his point, telling us thats “why Roman Reigns is the current Universal Champion”. Kayla looks a bit confused, and tells Heyman she thinks the reasons why Reigns won is “because Owens was handcuffed”. Kayla moves the show along, and introduces us to the next guest, “the leader of the YES! Movement” Daniel Bryan.
A Royal Declaration
Daniel begins by saying he heard what the hosts were talking about, and says he’s not always the best, “but he tries to be”. Bryan asks Heyman if he “is better” than Roman Reigns. Daniel cuts a fired up promo, telling us that his match with Jey Uso wasn’t for first place, but he “felt the energy”. Bryan says he doesn’t care about being in first, he cares about being in a good fight, because that’s what “makes him feel alive”. Kayla then begins to question Bryan about the Royal Rumble match, and Bryan tells her winning the match is something hes “always wanted to do”. Bryan mentions that he hasn’t won a battle royal in his career, and you can color me shocked! Daniel then says he’s making a goal to win the Royal Rumble, and if he does, he will face whoever the Universal Champion is at Wrestlemania. Bryan turns his attention to Heyman, and tells him he “is a better fighter and wrestler than Roman Reigns”. Bryan finishes by telling Heyman that if he wins the Royal Rumble he “will face Roman, and he will beat Roman”. Bryan tells Heyman there’s one more thing, and says that if Roman isn’t the champion at Wrestlemania, “he will beat him anyways”, at some other time. The show then immediately transitions into the next guests, the WWE Woman’s Tag Team Champions, Charlotte Flair, and Raw Women’s Champion Asuka.

Kayla asks Charlotte about capturing the gold on the same night she returned. Charlotte tells her she felt like “she had to come back and reprove herself”. Heyman tells the Champions he watched Raw, “but only to see you two”, because he didn’t know they were friends. He wonders whose idea this was and Asuka starts shouting in Japanese. Charlotte says to Heyman “it was her idea”. Paul tells the Champs Kayla “didn’t understand what Asuka said”, and Asuka talks in Japanese again. Kayla just agrees with her, because why not? Kayla moves the interview into talks about other tag teams, and wonders which team concerns them the most. Charlotte says Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose have “come a long way”, and she quickly lists all of the teams, before ending by saying she “thinks they will be a hard team to beat”. Kayla ends the interview, as the Champs begin to wonder if they should be the “robe warriors or queens of tomorrow”. Weren’t the “Robe Warriors” Flair and Bobby Roode? Anyways, Big E is up next, and he’s here to talk about his big win.
And The NEWWW!
Big E dances on to the set, and Heyman tells E congratulations. E thanks Heyman for the words a few weeks ago, and E says “it stayed with him”. E tells us it been 7 years since his last Intercontinental Championship reign, and starts thanking Heyman once again, for reminding him he has “the juice”. E tells us that many people have been “what if’s”, and he doesn’t want to be another case of “what might have been”. Kayla begins to talk about the New Day, and wonders if this is “validation” for his decision to be a singles competitor. E wonders what decision was made, and shouts that the people in the back spilt them up! Kayla corrects herself, and E tells her “he took lemons and made lemonade”. E continues, telling Kayla that you “have to take what you’re given and run with it”. E finishes the point by saying “this and more” is what I’m here for. Kayla questions the “sentimental value” of the title to him, and E says he’s “on another level of ready now”. E feels that he’s become a better performer in the last 7 years, and tells us that’s been a goal of his. Heyman starts to give E another pep talk, and goes into how he thinks E is a gentleman. Heyman continues the point, telling E that’s helped him get many things in the business. Heyman tells E he knows it’s the first step towards becoming the top champion in WWE. Heyman further states his point to E, saying Big E “will learn how much he loves being a singles champion”, and he will want more. Heyman finishes by saying he wants to see E in the ring with Roman one day, and E is “on his way”. He tells Big E that when it comes to his evaluation of him, “it’s a new year”, and the show fades to black on that note.
That’s all for this weeks episode of Talking Smack. Come on back over to rajah.com next year, for more Talking Smack recaps!
