After last nights edition of Smackdown, WWE taped their latest episode of Talking Smack. The show featured King Nakamura, an appearance from Bianca Belair, as well as a visit from Kevin Owens.

Talking Smack (8/14)

Matt Camp welcomes everyone to the show, and introduces viewers to his co-host, Kevin Patrick. Kevin and Matt cover a few of the highlights from Smackdown, including the segment featuring Roman Reigns and John Cena, as well as the latest happenings between King Nakamura and Apollo Crews. Matt throws things over to Kayla Braxton in Oklahoma City, who is with the first guest.

King Nakamura

The newly crowned Intercontinental Champion joins Kayla in OKC, and he’s accompanied by Rick Boogz. Kayla begins asking Nakamura how it feels to have the IC title back on his shoulder, and the King explains “I became the champ again!” Kayla wonders if it’s time for Nakamura to upgrade his crown, and the King points out that his current crown fits just fine. Kayla turns her attention to Boogs, and asks him how he feels about Nakamura’s big victory. Rick explains “listen we’re talking about the king. This is called Talking Smack, but it should be called Talking Shin! What are we calling him now? Champion King Nakamura? King Intercontinental Champion Nakamura?” Kayla points out that Nakamura will have a target on his back as Champion, and Nak shrugs it off, before telling viewers “that’s what I wanted. I want to compete against everyone.” Kayla pitches it back over to Peter and Matt, who sends the show to an ad break.

⁃ On the other side of the break, the host’s recap everything that happened between Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks, until the second guest is ready in Oklahoma.

Kevin Owens

After picking up a victory over Baron Corbin on Smackdown, KO joins Talking Smack. Kayla kicks off the interview by asking Owens about Corbin. Kevin explains “you know, a few years ago when he had the long hair, I didn’t think his hairline could get worse... I hate to admit this, because he might hear it, but I like Corbin. He’s been a pretty huge piece of... word I can’t say. I’ve had a soft spot for him. If he helps himself a little maybe things can get rolling.” Owens continues “I signed my contract in 2014, almost 7 years ago to the date, and that day was surreal. So many legends commented on my signing, which was huge for me. The Rock specifically said ‘welcome to the club.’ One of the hashtags he used was something about sunset flips... and what did I use tonight to beat Baron Corbin?” Kayla says “a sunset flip,” and sends Talking Smack to the studio, where the show heads to another commercial break.

Bianca Belair

The Smackdown Women’s Champion storms onto the show, and begins by flipping a crate. Kayla says Bianca must be fuming after being assaulted on Smackdown, and Bianca explains “you know what? It didn’t have to be this way! I tried to give Sasha a chance, but she did this. I’m done playing these games with Sasha. When I see Sasha next week and at Summerslam it’s on!” Kayla quickly sends Talking Smack back over to the studio one last time, where Kevin and Matt have a few last thoughts.

⁃ Matt and Kevin share their final thoughts on last night’s Smackdown, until the show comes to a close.
