Talking Smack (8/21)

Matt Camp welcomes everyone to the show, and introduces viewers to his co-host, Kevin Patrick. Kevin and Matt cover a few of the highlights from Smackdown, including the message Edge delivered to Seth Rollins, as well as the exchange between John Cena and Roman Reigns. Matt throws things over to Kayla Braxton in Phoenix, who is with the first pair of guests.

The Alpha Academy

Kayla is standing by in Phoenix with Chad Gable and Otis of The Alpha Academy, and begins by asking Otis about his victory on Smackdown. Otis reflects on the win, and tells Kayla... Nothing, because Chad Gable says “it felt great for us, don’t challenge him to much right now. Have you ever seen as good of a trainer as me? Look what I’ve done for this man! This is the face nightmares are made of! You wanna stand across the ring from that face? No!” Kayla follows up by asking each man why they feel the academy is “the most dominant force in the Smackdown tag team division,” and Gable asks “do you see the carnage we have caused all over? It doesn’t matter who walks out Champion at SummerSlam, either way the target is set, our eyes are on the prize, and when we win those Smackdown Tag Team Championship’s... we’re gonna do it for The Academy.” Kayla pitches it back over to Peter and Matt, who sends the show to an ad break.

Sonya Deville

Kevin tosses things back over to Kayla in the arena, where WWE Official Sonya Deville is standing by. Kayla begins by asking Sonya what should be expected from tonight’s SummerSlam, and Deville explains “I have to say aummwrslqm is one of my favorite pay-per-views, and when you have matches like Sasha Banks vs Bianca Belair, or Cena vs Reigns, how can it get any better.” Kayla follows up by asking Deville for her thoughts on the Night Bianca Belair had during Smackdown, and Sonya tells viewers “when you think about Bianca Belair, you know she’s an elite athlete. But the one thing in question is her intensity, but Sasha Banks brought it out of her. She’s here to stay, she’s the reigning Smackdown Women’s Champion, and she’s gonna prove her point tomorrow.” Kayla sends Talking Smack to the studio, where the show heads to another commercial break.

Finn Balor

Kayla makes her presence felt one last time, and she’s backstage with Finn Balor. Kayla begins by asking “The Prince” why he isn’t smiling. Finn explains “I used to smile all the time, because it was easier to hide what was killing me inside, but I’m done smiling. I’ll tell you what’s inside! The fact that John Cena stepped over my body and signed my contract, the fact that I’m on the outside of the main event of SummerSlam, that’s killing me. I hope Roman Reigns and John Cena tear each other apart, because I’ll be waiting like a vulture to devour what’s left... And they will be wishing I was still smiling, because I’ll be killing them.” Kayla sends Talking Smack back over to the studio one last time, where Kevin and Matt have a few last thoughts.

⁃ Matt and Kevin share their final thoughts on last night’s Smackdown, until the show comes to a close.
