WWE "Talking Smack" Recap: The Alpha Academy, Bianca Belair, and AJ Styles Talk

Hello again wrestling fans, and welcome back to the Talking Smack Recap! Today’s episode of Talking Smack, which you can watch over on the WWE Network, is the last one before the Royal Rumble, and that means it’s the last chance to send a message before Sunday’s massive event. Joining hosts Kayla Braxton and Paul Heyman today will be Bianca Belair, AJ Styles, and Chad Gable with Otis, and Daniel Bryan, The Alpha Academy. Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, it’s time to talk some smack!

Kayla welcomes us to the ThunderDome, as Heyman gets a touch up on his makeup, and that’s quite the visual. Kayla recaps “a very exciting” episode of Smackdown, and talks about the big win Bianca Belair had against Bayley. She also talks about the epic match between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles, as well as the return of Braun Strowman. Heyman tells Kayla he “doesn’t care” about Smackdown, because he is in “the Roman Reigns business”. Heyman tells Kayla that Reigns is “the centerpiece” of Smackdown, and Roman is the reason for everything in the WWE. Heyman further states that everything Roman is involved in, he(Heyman) is involved in. Heyman closes by saying that this Sunday “Roman Reigns will be the last man standing” and after he becomes the last man standing, him and Roman will see who wins the Rumble. Kayla then welcomes in the first guest of the night, Daniel Bryan.

Daniel Bryan

Daniel plugs his new shirt, and tells us the money paid for those goes to charity. Bryan then marks out about Heyman bringing up science, and thinks Heymans favorite planet is “Uranus”. Ha! Kayla asks what Bryan’s response is to what Heyman said, and Bryan calls him “a genius when it comes to this industry”. Bryan tells us the difficult part is to find Heymans “true opinion”, and asks Paul if he has “ever thought I am the best”. Heyman stalls, and Bryan waits for the answer with Kayla. Heyman says “yes and no”. Heyman goes on to say that although Bryan sees his career as winding down, Paul doesn’t. Paul talks about the Wrestlemania main event, calling it “intoxicating”. Heyman tells Bryan that if he is the best on the night he steps into the ring with Reigns, “we are screwed”. Heyman thinks Bryan is “capable on any night” of showing he’s the best, and Bryan talks about what he uses to drive himself. Bryan talks about wrestling in the Performance Center without fans, and how he loved “just straight up wrestling”. Bryan talks about everyone booing when Roman won the Royal Rumble, and finishes by saying that Roman “doesn’t wrestle with his heart”. Bryan finishes by saying that when he gets in the ring, “there is no place I would rather be”. Bryan tells us he is “passionate” about wrestling, and before he goes home to be passionate about family, he’s going to take it all in. Bryan then brings on the rest of The Alpha Academy, and they seem excited to be on the show. Bryan talks about how he’s learned to use his hips, and Otis demonstrates on Heyman. Otis tries to show Kayla, but she declines. Bryan tells everyone his “hips are strong”, and he’s worried about Gables “very explosive hips”. The academy does their “hip dance”, and walk away, as Heyman looks disgusted. Kayla then welcomes in the next guest, Bianca Belair.

Bianca Belair

Heyman tells Bianca “it’s a pleasure to see you”, and then rants about Daniel Bryan. Kayla talks to Bianca about her episode of WWE Chronicle, and Bianca tells her “it’s just been great”. Kayla talks up the big win Bianca had earlier in the night, and Bianca says she is “just so happy right now”, and talks up the performer Bayley is. Bianca states that she feels like she’s “on top of the world”, and Kayla asks about the upcoming Royal Rumble. Bianca tells her that the Rumble “is unpredictable”, and she knows she will have to “watch her back” after beating Bayley on Smackdown. Bianca tells us she wants to have “her own page” in the WWE history book, and Kayla sends “The EST” away. Kayla then brings out the nights final guest, AJ Styles.

AJ Styles

AJ joins the show, as well as Omos, and Kayla wonders how it is for him to be on Smackdown again. Heyman stares at Omos, and AJ tells him not to. Heyman tells AJ he has his back “if Kayla gets jumpy”, and AJ wonders if Omos should leave. Heyman gasps at the size of Omos, and AJ calls Omos “a bouncer, and a good friend”. AJ begins talking about the Royal Rumble, and tells the hosts he “has a good plan”. Styles tells us he will win the Rumble, and go after the championship of his choosing. AJ tells Heyman he will let us all know when he finds out, and Heyman tells AJ “Roman Reigns has defeated you”. Heyman continues, calling Reigns a “tough mountain” for AJ to climb, and tells AJ that challenging Roman means he will “main event Wrestlemania”. Heyman thinks AJ is one of the best in ring performers in the world, and when Roman defeats AJ again, it’ll cement him as one of the best in the world too. Heyman thinks the match would be “box office platinum”, and AJ agrees. AJ tells us he will make that decision soon, and goes into hypotheticals. AJ wonders what it would mean if he beat Roman, and he thinks it would put Heyman “out of a job”. Styles wonders what Omos thinks, and he’s speechless. Omos and Heyman have a stare down, as the show fades to black, and Heyman tells him “Kayla won’t move”. Kayla tells them she’s “not here”, and the show fades to black.
