Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston faced each other on RAW last week, where the winner was set to battle WWE Champion Bobby Lashley for his WWE Title at the WWE Hell In a Cell PPV, unfortunately MVP and the WWE Champion Bobby Lashley interfered in the match and attacked both competitors leaving no winner as the match ended in a Double DQ.
WWE official Adam Pearce would then announce that McIntyre and Kingston will face each other again in a rematch from last week, with the winner being named the new #1 Contender for Lashley's WWE Title at the Hell In a Cell PPV Event, while also adding a stipulation that if Bobby Lashley or MVP interferes in the match, then the WWE Champion will be suspended for 90 days without pay.
The main event of last night's episode of RAW featured the one-on-one match between McIntyre and Kofi that saw McIntyre get the win over Kofi to become the new #1 Contender for Lashley's WWE Title at the Hell In a Cell PPV Event. McIntyre won the match by hitting Kofi with a huge Claymore Kick in mid-air when Kofi attempted to jump from the top rope.
No matches have been announced to take place inside the Hell in a Cell structure, but updates will be provided as it is made available. WWE Hell in a Cell is set to take place on Sunday, June 20 from the WWE ThunderDome at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
