The main event of last night's WWE Money in the Bank PPV Event saw WWE Universal Champion "The Tribal Chief" Roman Reigns successfully retain his WWE Universal Championship against WWE Hall of Famer Edge thanks to interference from The Usos, The Mysterios and Seth Rollins. Reigns defeated Edge after Seth Rollins came down for a second time, which would lead to The Head Of The Table hitting a spear on The Rated R Superstar and picking up the pinfall victory.
WWE legend and 16-time World Champion John Cena then made his return and confronted the WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The 16-time World Champion confronted Reigns in the middle of the ring and did his “you can’t see me” hand gesture, which caused the crowd to pop. WWE's Money in the Bank then went off the air with Cena posing in the corner, while facing the crowd as Reigns was staring him down.
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns took to his Twitter account after the Money in the Bank PPV Event and issued a statement on his title win. Roman Reigns said the only two constants in the WWE Universe is that they all come back and they all acknowledge him, but Reigns did not address the return of the 16-time World Champion.
Roman Reigns is expected to defend his WWE Universal Championship against John Cena at the SummerSlam PPV Event. As previously reported, John Cena is set to kick off tonight's episode of WWE RAW from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas and explain why he made his return on last night's Money in the Bank PPV Event, which was the 16-time WWE World Champion's first appearance since WrestleMania 36 in 2020.
