WWE veteran "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles announced ahead of his match against 17-time World Champion John Cena at Crown Jewel: Perth this past October that he plans to retire in 2026; however, he did not specify an exact date for his retirement.
Recently, a fan expressed on Twitter (X) their desire to see one final match between the iconic rivals AJ Styles and current AEW star Samoa Joe before Styles hangs up his boots. Another fan responded by suggesting that Styles should have ended his career in AEW, stating, “He chose the WWE money!”
Styles took notice of the comment and did not hold back in his response. He replied, “I’ll take dumbest things to ever have been said for 100 Alex.”
In recent news, Styles and Dragon Lee were dethroned as World Tag Team Champions by The Usos on this past Monday night’s episode of RAW. Their reign lasted 70 days. Now that he has lost the tag team titles, it will be interesting to see if the former WWE Champion returns to singles action moving forward.
