-- WWE has seen a massive increase in their popularity over the last couple of years and generally, it has been a boon to their business leading to larger revenue and in turn higher salaries for many wrestlers who have re-signed contracts. However, with the company's success has come some negatives and one of them has been talent's increasing difficulty in securing complimentary tickets ("comps") for their friends and family. A second one goes almost hand-in-hand: rising ticket prices for the general public.
-- WWE's rise in popularity has seen ticket prices skyrocket as of late and as of the last quarter of 2024, they have reached an all-time high. In turns, internal comps have become limited and more recently have also hit a new level of difficulty and according to fightfulselect.com, multiple talent have expressed frustrations over it.
-- The report noted that in at many live event, comps aren't even available any more and talent who are looking to secure tickets for their friends or family are instead directed to a pre-sale link that they can use before seats open up to the general public. It's unclear if this applies to all wrestlers including those at the very top of the roster or just a certain group.
-- The general procedure for talent requesting tickets is to send in a request and if/when granted, a notification is sent via email to the friend/family who got the ticket(s). One wrestler expressed frustration saying that no written or updated info was provided to talent and they were simply told of the changes (the pre-sale link) by talent relations. Another wrestler stated that they had comps approved months before the live event and then the week of the show were instead asked to provide a credit card to pay for the seats.
-- A WWE official commented on the story stating that because WWE is such a "hot ticket" right now, the company isn't even needing as many "seat fillers" as they did in previous years.
