Following his WWE release, Zack Ryder revealed his intentions on wearing new ring gear inspired by an ECW Original that he had at one point intended to debut in WWE back in 2016.
Ryder, real name Matt Cardona, took to social media on Saturday evening to reveal the ring gear, which was inspired by former ECW Champion Mikey Whipwreck, who is the also the trainer of the longtime WWE veteran.
"I originally planned to wear the gear in 2016, but didn’t," wrote Cardona via his official Twitter page. "It is inspired by my wrestling trainer, [Mikey Whipwreck]."
He continued, "I had planned to wear it a few more times, but for one reason or another, I didn’t get to wear it. I can’t wait to wrestle again and finally wear it."
