WWE News: Benoit & Eddie as Champs, Future PPV Schedule, Updated Rumble Buyrate

- It is considered by many that Chris Benoit will be more of a "short-term" champion, possibly losing the belt to Triple H within the next couple of months while Eddie Guerrero is being pegged as a more "long-term" champion. Guerrero was slated to defend his title in a rematch against Kurt Angle at the next Smackdown! brand PPV but with Angle's injury and the roster shuffling expected to go down tonight, that is all up in the air.

- Linda McMahon confirmed to investors that WWE will be presenting 14 PPVs this year. In June, there will be a RAW PPV on 6/13 in Louisville, Kentucky followed by a Smackdown! PPV on 6/27 in Norfolk, Virginia. Then a couple weeks later, WWE will come back with another RAW PPV on 7/11 in Hartford, Connecticut. Later in the year in October, there will also be two PPVs - 10/10 for Smackdown! and on 10/19 for RAW. The RAW PPV will be somewhat of a test, as it will take place on a Tuesday.

- The updated Royal Rumble numbers now show that the event did a 0.98 buyrate which is roughly 530,000 buys. That is up from about 515,000 in 2003.
