First out was Teddy Long who gave the intro and listed
off all the matches.
London won the first match with a 450 splash in a
cruiser weight match against Chavo. Ok match, I give
it 4/10.
Rene Dupree out to the ring to taunt Iowa and make
sure everyone knows he’s the heel in this match
against Mark Jindrack. This match was terrible; it
gets 2/10 as Jindrack picks up a pin-fall off a
roundhouse punch.
Michelle McCool came out to the ring and introduced
the special guest referee Funaki. Then the
participants came out: Torrie and Miss Jackie.
Michelle cheated and allowed Jackie to pick up the
win. Torrie had the last laugh though as she threw
out Michelle and gave a big DDT to Jackie. 3/10
Next was a tag team championship match with Hass and
Hardcore Holly vs. MNM. This was actually a good
match. I score it a 7/10. A couple of funny parts:
Melina tried to distract Hardcore by laying on the
turnbuckle but Hardcore spanked her. Also Mercury
also ended up wrenching Nitro’s arm around on
accident. MNM retained by using their double DDT
finisher.
Then Carlito came out for his cabana with Matt Morgan.
He talked a lot of crap about Des Moines and the ECW
so Teddy Long came out and punished them with a table
match against the Dudley Boys who won with a 3-D. 6/10
Intermission
After the break was a match between Eddie and Scotty 2
Hotty. The match had been set to be Eddie and Rey but
Rey had been injured. Eddie had his way with Scotty
and made him top out to a Texas clover leaf. 4/10
Then it was Booker T with his wife against Kurt Angle.
During the match, Angle tried to bring in a chair but
Booker kicked it right back into his face. There was
a disqualification that made you think Kurt had won
but instead it was Booker who was named the winner.
7/10
WWE Championship was on the line in a handicap match
between Cena and JBL and Orlando Jordan. JBL and OJ
came out and majorly dissed Des Moines. Cena came out
and got the crowd to call Orlando “Buckwheat”. Funny
match, Cena made JBL and OJ hurt each other several
times. The final move was Cena moved out of the way
of a clothesline from hell and Orlando was hit with
it. Then Cena hit the F-U on JBL for the win. 7/10
Biggest Pop went to John Cena
Biggest Heat went to Orlando Jordan and JBL
After the show we got both the Dudley Boys’ autographs
and John Cena signed my drawing of him. I also gave
one to Cena. I told him how I thought he was probably
the best fan-oriented wrestler out there. He really
seemed to appreciate my gift and my comment. Then I
asked him if he was going to be on raw the next day
and he said he hoped not. But…we all know how that
turned out.
