Official WWE SmackDown Preview (8/18) - Bracing for SummerSlam, Orton vs. Benoit

From WWE.com:

A historic SummerSlam will be just three days away when SmackDown! visits Toronto.

Sunday will be an emotional day for Rey Mysterio, who needs to defeat Eddie Guerrero to regain custody of Dominick. Meanwhile, JBL will once again try to become a champion when he takes on Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship in a No Holds Barred Match.

Plus, MNM fixer Jillian challenged Booker T & Sharmell to a mixed tag team match against Joey Mercury and Melina. That match is set for this week.

Another match just added will be a 2004 SummerSlam rematch as former World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton faces Chris Benoit.

ORTON VS. BENOIT
Randy Orton certainly has fond memories of Toronto.

It was in Toronto at SummerSlam 2004 when the Legend Killer defeated Chris Benoit to become the youngest World Champion in WWE history.

Nearly one year later, and in the very same city, Orton will take on Benoit this Thursday on SmackDown!

Can lightning strike twice for the Legend Killer? Will Benoit get some overdue revenge?

Both Superstars have huge SummerSlam 2005 matches on deck as Orton takes on Undertaker, who he was unable to defeat at WrestleMania 21, and Benoit has a chance to become a three-time United States Champion when he takes on Orlando Jordan on Aug. 21.

General Manager Theodore Long certainly has a sense for the dramatic as Orton and Benoit clash Thursday night on SmackDown! (8/7) CT.
