WWE has currently booked Cody Rhodes to defend his WWE Undisputed Title against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42.
Despite the match being a one-on-one bout, rumors have persisted that WWE may be looking to expand the match into a triple threat or even four-way that could include Jacob Fatu and/or Drew McIntyre, however, it appears those reports are inaccurate.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that unless the company makes a late pivot, the title match is locked in as singles contest between Rhodes and Orton.
A related report also emerged this week that suggested that WWE was considering putting Rhodes vs. McIntyre inside a Hell in a Cell and Meltzer added that WWE also considered Rhodes vs. Reigns in a Hell in a Cell for WrestleMania as well and in fact, originally planned for that, before the entire direction was changed as a result of the injury to Seth Rollins and the decision to put the title briefly on McIntyre.
