Over the weekend, news broke that one of WWE's top young stars, Bron Breakker, was dealing with a hernia and required surgery, putting him out of action for an indefinite period of time. On Monday's episode of WWE Raw, the company confirmed as much but noted that Breakker suffered an injury during training without specifying exactly what it was.
PWInsider reported that Breakker had been dealing with the hernia issue on an ongoing basis and well before last week's Raw. The decision for him to go under the knife was made following last week's show. Their report added that Breakker's creative booking at the Royal Rumble was not affected at all by his injury and was decided upon in advance.
Fightful Select then reported that while the hernia injury was deemed serious in nature and that Breakker is expected to miss multiple weeks of action, WWE sources remain optimistic that he will be back in time to compete at WrestleMania 42.
