Randy Orton kicks off the show. He welcomes us to the show as the fans chant his name. Before he can get any further, Trick Williams interrupts. To a chorus of boos, Williams says he has arrived as the newest star. He tells Orton it's 2026, not 2006 and he wants to talk.

Orton says he sees a star in Trick - he has the looks and confidence but he isn't sure why he chose to come to interrupt him of all people. Does he have the brains? Trick says he's out here for one reason - to brush up against a great one like Orton. He says it's the year of Trick Williams. Williams proceeds to slap the mic out of Orton's hand and gets decked with a right hand and a draping DDT.

Suddenly, The Miz appears and attacks Orton but he is overpowered and Orton hits him with the RKO. Orton then climbs the turnbuckle and poses.

As Orton is leaving, the lights go off and Rey Fenix enters the ramp area. He does some poses, then fist bumps Orton and heads to the ring for his upcoming match against Trick Williams. Orton tells him to kick Williams' ass.

Rey Fenix vs. Trick Williams

Trick starts by pushing Rey around a bit and posing. The two trade offense and eventually the match heads outside where Trick whips Fenix into the ring steps. Back in the ring, Trick kicks Rey repeatedly in the corner and Fenix slips outside to recover. Fenix counters a suplex into a near fall after which both men trade shots. Williams with a pop-up uppercut for another two. Fenix places Williams at the top and they sort of jockey for position up there before Fenix hits a hurricanrana for two. Fenix then tries for a moonsault but Trick gets his legs up and then follows it up with a few near pins. The finish sees Trick Williams reverse a cover, grab a handful of tights and secure the win. WINNER: Trick Williams.

Backstage, Byron Saxton is with Giulia and her representative Kiana James. He asks her what the title victory means. Giulia says her title is back where it belongs. James says Giulia is an asset whose upside hasn't been accounted for and soon she will dominate. Giulia then issues a warning to Alexa Bliss, saying she will make an example of her. She says some other stuff and the two walk away.

After a commercial break, they show us highlights of last week's Ambulance Match between Aleister Black and Damian Priest.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews Priest. He asks him how he's feeling and what's in store for him in 2026. Priest says he's hurting and he won the war. In 2026, he wants to join the world title party as that road will lead him to someone who he has a lot of respect for - Cody Rhodes.

Drew McIntyre comes up behind Priest and Priest admits that tonight, Drew could become the WWE Champion and if that happens, they can run it back another time. He reminds McIntyre what happened the last time they wrestled.

Saxton takes the opportunity to ask McIntyre what's going through his mind in preparation for the Three Stages of Hell match against Cody Rhodes later tonight. McIntyre says he can't wait to see Rhodes' face when he sees what he has - and he shows off the watch that Dusty Rhodes had to pawn off for Cody. McIntyre says after seeing the watch, Cody will get DQ'd in the first fall and then all he will need is one more fall to finally become WWE Champion.

Backstage, Alexa Bliss is on the phone with Charlotte Flair. She says Charlotte sounds terrible and she only found out about this match today. She tells Charlotte to rest and recover. After hanging up, Nia Jax and Lash Legend pop up. They try to rile up Bliss against Charlotte saying when its finally about Alexa, Charlotte disappears. Bliss doesn't fall for it and instead warns Legend to watch out for Nia before walking out.

WWE Women's United States Title Match: Giulia vs. Alexa Bliss

The two shove each other at the beginning. Giulia is on offense first, hitting a missle dropkick and flinging Bliss around the ring by her hair. However, she misses a charge and Bliss pulls the rope down and Giula falls to the outside. Bliss with a cannonball and we go to an early commercial.

It doesn't appear much has happened when we come back. Some interference from James and a few two counts. Bliss fights off some moves and sets up for the Sister Abigail but James gets on the apron and distracts the ref. Bliss hits a DDT instead and then punches James. Ref gets all distracted trying to get James out of the ring. Bliss to the top but Lash Legend appears and pushes her off. Giulia then hits the Northern Lights and gets the win. WINNER: Giulia.

AFter the match, Nia Jax and Lash Legend beat up Bliss some more and leave her laid out. They taunt her before we cut to the back.

GM Nick Aldis is with Jordynne Grace to officially sign her to the brand when Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre interrupt. Green is harping on her rematch but Grace says she isn't going to be a diva like some of the other women on the brand. Fyre steps up and goes face-to-face with Grace and so Aldis announces the two will wrestle each other tonight.

Kit Wilson pops in after the ladies leave. He complains about not leaving who his opponent was last week and about chipping his tooth. Aldis doesn't waste too much time with him and goes into his office.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews Matt Cardona about returning to WWE. Cardona says it's been almost six years and it's great to be back. He said he busted his ass to get back to WWE and could have return as Zack Ryder but he wants to build the Matt Cardona name. When he turns and looks over, Cody Rhodes is sitting there and they embrace. Cardona wishes him luck and then says he's not just back for the sake of it, he is here for the belt. Rhodes says once he's done with Drew, let's talk.

We see the history between the Wyatt Sicks and the MFT.

Howdy then attacks all the other MFT members and locks in the Mandible Claw on JC but Solo grabs the lantern on the outside to distract Howdy. Tama Tonga then hits the Cutthroat on Howdy and gets the win. WINNERS: Solo Sikoa & MFT

After the match, Solo leaves with the lanter.

He then meets up with Ilja Dragunov and wonders if the two could wrestle tonight; Ilja says they will have their rematch in due time but tonight, he is going to talk to Aldis about something else.

A video package for Oba Femi is shown.

Alba Fyre vs. Jordynne Grace

Grace dominates early and often but Fyre is able to sneak in a DDT for a near fall. Grace soon takes control again and delivers a spinebuster before hitting a folding powerbomb. Green jumps on the apron when she senses danger and Grace throws Fyre into Green to send her flying. Grace hoists Fyre up with a torture rack powerbomb for the pin. WINNER: Jordynne Grace.

As Grace is leaving, Jade Cargill - title in tow - walks out with a mic. They meet near the top of the ramp and Cargil sizes up Grace. Jade asks Grace if she thinks she's special. But now she's on her show and she is that b*tch. Cargill drops the mic and walks away.

Backstage, Byron Saxton is with Sami Zayn whose next goal is to become WWE Champion. Saxton asks him who he thinks will win the title match tonight. Zayn says it's difficult for him to admit this but a part of him wants Drew McIntyre to win so he can face him and beat him for the first time. However, obviously he's rooting for Cody, who is one of the best champions in recent years. But who he thinks will actually win? Zayn gives it some thought and says his money is on Cody. But no matter who walks out as champ, he will be waiting on the other side.

Backstage, we see Drew McIntyre in deep thought preparing for his upcoming Three Stages Of Hell match.

Backstage, Nathan Frazer and Axiom are in the back talking about the open challenge, but it isn't Axiom. It turns out it is Johnny Gargano under the mask, who attacks Frazer. The real Axiom then shows up.

WWE United States Title Open Challenge: Carmelo Hayes vs. TBA

The challenge is answered by Shinsuke Nakamura. The match starts off with some grappling. The commentators stress that Nakamura has a major advantage knowing for days or a week that he would be facing Hayes and thus being able to game plan while the champ had no idea who he would be facing. Lots of back-and-forth action and near falls.

Nakamura has Hayes hung up over the top, and Hayes has been selling an injury to his left knee and Nakamura targets the injury with relentless attacks to that area. Nakamura places him in sort of a half Boston Crab and dominates the action. Nakamura's kick is caught by Hayes who then mounts an attack of his own. Hayes tries to climb the turnbuckle but Shinsuke catches him and hits a Dragon Screw. Nakamura continues to target the left knee. Nakamura eventually misses a strike and hurts his own knee, bailing to the floor. Hayes then hits a thrust kick and DDT.

Back in the ring, Hayes misses a frog splash and Nakamura locks in knee bar but Carmelo gets to the ropes to break the hold. Nakamura continues to isolate the leg. He then hits a running knee and then Nakamura lines him up to deliver the Kinshasa but Hayes counters with a DDT. Hayes climbs to the second rope but Nakamura runs and attacks him; he lays him across the turnbuckle and eventually hits a Kinshasa. But Hayes counters with a First 48 and then nails Nakamura with the Nothin But Net to get the win and retain his title. WINNER: Carmelo Hayes.

After the match, Hayes extends his hand and the two shake hands and celebrate together.

Backstage, Cody Rhodes is preparing when Byron Saxton approaches him to get his final thoughts. Rhodes says he saw that Drew McIntyre has Dusty's watch. He talks about how McIntyre has to drag his father in but that's lazy as Dusty doesn't make the comeback, Cody does. Rhodes says his eyes are on the Royal Rumble and then WrestleMania.

WWE Smackdown GM Nick Aldis announces that there will be four qualifying matches to determine the next challenger for the WWE Title. The finals will take place at Saturday Night's Main Event and then the winner of that match faces the champion at the Royal Rumble.

Next week, Randy Orton faces the Miz in a qualifying match while Matt Cardona faces Trick Williams in another Match. Damian Priest will take on Solo Sikoa in the third qualifier and finally, Sami Zayn faces Ilja Dragunov in the last.

Three Stages Of Hell WWE Undisputed Title Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre

The three stages of the match are shared again: a traditional singles match, a Falls Count Anywhere Match and if necessary, a Steel Cage Match.

Cody wastes no time attacking McIntyre. He sends Drew flying to the outside with a clothesline almost immediately and then follows it up with a Suicide Dive. McIntyre picks up a steel chair and throws it to Cody, daring him to use it in during the standard stage which would have resulted in a DQ and given McIntyre a 1-0 lead. They are back outside and Cody punches him, comes back in to break the count and heads back out where he is caught in an Irish Whip into the steel steps. McIntyre sends Rhodes back in the ring and tries for a suplex but Cody counters, runs to the ropes and hits a springboard cutter. Drew is holding on to the turnbuckle as Cody is pulling him back and it comes undone. As the ref was dealing with repairing the turnbuckle, Drew hits a low blow, follows it up with a Claymore Kick and gets a quick pin to take the lead. FIRST STAGE: Drew McIntyre.

As the second stage is underway, McIntyre sets up a table outside and then powerbombs Cody through it. He goes for a pin right on the table but Cody kicks out. Drew slams Cody onto the steps and then punches him as they head up the ramp. Cody fights back and the two head into the audience where they brawl further and further into the crowd. Cody then bites Drew's head and grabs a phone and takes a selfie. He hits McIntyre with a random drink and they make their way to the backstage area now. Cody sends Drew into the metal garage door and then wails away on his head and shoves a banana in his mouth. They make their way back out where McIntyre sets up a table. He sets up Cody for a powerbomb but Cody grabs onto the side rails and climbs his way out of the way. Cody then counters a powerslam and slams McIntyre into the side barricades. He lays Drew on the table and then climbs the steps into the audience where he splashes McIntyre from a great height, goes for the cover but McIntyre is somehow able to kick out. Cody then grabs Drew and makes his way back to the ringside area. Drew finds a steel chair and surprises Cody with it. He sizes up Cody for the Claymore again but Cody blocks it before clearing the announce table. Cody then sets up Drew for a Cross Rhodes and gets the pin. SECOND STAGE: Cody Rhodes.

The third stage now begins as the steel cage descends down on the ring. Rhodes launches McIntyre into the cage a few times but somehow Drew almost sneaks out of the cage through the door. They exchange near falls. Drew hits a huge superplex from on the side of the cage but Cody gets his shoulder up. Cody misses a shoulder and flies into the corner and seems to have suffered a cut on his head as Drew punches away and gets a near fall after a Future Shock. Cody eventually counters and hits another Cross Rhodes but McIntyre kicks out. Cody hits another Cutter but Drew kicks out again. Cody sets him up for yet another Cross Rhodes and ends up hitting two of them. He goes for a third, but McIntyre rakes his eyes and sneaks out. McIntyre then hits a Claymore and Rhodes kicks out at the very last split second. McIntyre then starts climbing over the top but Rhodes catches him and bites his calf. Now they are both hanging over the top of the cage and start trading punches while perched up there. Cody starts getting the better of it, and Drew falls off. Cody has a chance to escape but instead hits a huge Cody Cutter from the top and McIntyre almost gets a pin but McIntyre gets his shoulder up. Cody gets up and slowly starts climbing the cage as Drew tries to stagger up behind him. Cody catches him and as both men cling onto the cage they trade shots. As Cody tries to hop over, Drew grabs his leg and they go at it again. Suddenly, Drew loses his balances and crotches himself on the top rope and seconds later, the same thing happens to Cody. Drew then makes his way to the door and appears on his way out but a masked man shows up, pushes the ref out of the way and stops him. He unmasks himself to reveal Jacob Fatu. Drew tries to run in the other direction but Fatu catches him in the ring and starts wailing down on him. Cody comes in from behind and Jacob turns around and attacks Cody. While this is happening, McIntyre slips out of the cage through the door and wins the third stage, the match and the WWE Title! THIRD STAGE, WINNER & NEW CHAMPION: Drew McIntyre.

As McIntyre slithers away with his new belt, Rhodes attacks Fatu and wonders what just happened as we go to credits.
