Welcome aboard one and all. Armageddon is nearly upon us but here and now it's time for the weekend shows. Let's get this party started with Velocity.
William Regal w/Paul Burchill vs Scotty 2 Hotty
A Scotty chant is heard at the start. Lockup, Regal tries to work the arm but Scotty reverses into a side headlock and hits a shoulder tackle off the ropes. The crowd taunt the brits with a USA chant. Regal applies a wristlock but Scotty responds with another side headlock and shoulder tackle that sends Regal to the corner. Lockup, Regal applies a full nelson, Scotty reverses and applies a third headlock. Regal sends Scotty off the ropes but Scotty hangs on trips Regal and walks over him before running the ropes and knocking Regal back down with a forearm. Scotty takes down Regal for a nearfall before Regal backs Scotty to the corner and attacks with knees to the gut and a punch. Scotty reverses an Irish whip and Regal rebounds into a backbodydrop. Scotty punches Regal down who wants mercy. Regal to the corner, Scotty with a boot, punch and mounted punch assault. Scotty wiggles and punches Regal down. Regal cowers to the corner, Scotty advances and Irish whips twice. Scotty sees Regal in position and he goes for the bulldog off the ropes, Regal lunges, Scotty ducks, nails a crescent kick and gets into position and sets up for the W-O-R-M no Burchill runs in but Scotty ducks and sends him through the ropes. A distracted Scotty focuses on Burchill and he turns back round to a knee to the gut followed by a knee trembler by Regal who gets the 1-2-3. Here is Your Winner: WILLIAM REGAL.
Jamie Noble vs Tommaso Whitney
Josh welcomes back the Redneck Messiah and notes he's spent time in New Japan but fails to mention ruling ROH for a while. Noble backs Whitney to the corner and gets some shots in before hitting a stinging chop and driving his head into Whitney's gut. Noble with a single leg takedown misses an elbow, Whitney grabs a side headlock but Noble immediately back suplexes out. Noble clubs the back then hits a scoop slam. Noble drops a leg and gets a nearfall. Noble talks trash as he rips at Whitney's face then drops an elbow onto his head. Noble with a knee to the side of the head then chokes Whitney in the second rope before stepping out onto the apron and booting him in the head. Noble with a firemans carry drops Whitney down across his knees with a gutbuster then hits a running dropkick to the face and picks up the win after a dragon sleeper. Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs Scotty Charisma & Arch Kincaid
London and Kendrick are sporting new matching ring attire and theatrical themed mimist masks. Kendrick begins trying to work Charisma's arm but Charisma replies with a side headlock and shoulder tackle. Kendrick answers back with a hiptoss and slam before London enters with a Mushroom stomp. London with a side headlock then ducks Charisma off the ropes and takes him down with some kicks. London and Kendrick then go to work on Charisma's arm making frequent tags and drop down attacks from the top rope. Kendrick headbutts and stomps Charisma down in the corner and boot chokes him before London hits a springboard dropkick. Charisma gets a double armdrag off the ropes and London and Kendrick both nip up (very Rocker-esque) and land kicks to the back in stereo. Kincaid runs in and gets a double backelbow before Charisma gets punched down and Kendrick covers for a nearfall. Kendrick faceplants Charisma before London snaps back with a running neckbreaker to the fallen Charisma. London with a slam and senton bomb off the ropes for a nearfall which Kincaid breaks up. This allows Charisma to attack London. Kincaid tags in and after some knees to the gut Kincaid clotheslines London down off the ropes for a nearfall. London escapes a cross armbar/chinlock, Kincaid goes for a backbodydrop off the ropes but London lands on his feet and tags out and Kincaid receives a double dropkick. Charisma runs in and gets a double flapjack before Kendrick hits Kincaid with a flying attack off the ropes. Kincaid gets whipped to the corner where Kendrick meets him with a flying forearm then London with a dropkick. Charisma gets a double crescent kick before Kincaid gets finished off with the STO/enziguiri combo. London covers and gets the duke. 1-2-3. Lots of similarities to the Rockers in this match which is all good for me. Here Are Your Winners: PAUL LONDON & BRIAN KENDRICK.
Doug Basham vs Todd Henson
Basham comes out looking like the Fallen Angel and before the match downs a canned drink and bashes it on his head like the Sandman. This proves he's still going by his Bashman moniker quite literally LOL. Josh says what he drank was one of Simon Dean's shakes. Basham begins with an armdrag then a go-behind into a side headlock. Basham and Henson exchange some arm reversals until Basham elbows free from a hammerlock and armdrags Henson down into a cover for one. Basham swats Henson away with his boot and a snapmare gets another one count before Basham pushes Henson away by the chin while talking trash. Basham with a side headlock takedown then a shoulder tackle off the ropes for another one count. Basham charges into an armdrag. Henson with a hiptoss and Basham backs away to the ropes. Basham gets up applauds then slaps Henson. Henson replies with some forearms and tries a headlock but Basham drives Henson's head into the corner and hits a series of chops. Basham pounds on the arm then drops Henson with a back suplex right across his own arm. Henson tries to fight back but Basham brings Henson's arm down onto his knee, takes him down again with a wristlock and applies a cross armbar on the mat. Henson gets up but Basham drives his shoulder into Henson's and slaps his head while still not letting go of the arm. Basham attempts another shoulder charge but Henson counters with a backbodydrop. Henson staggers Basham with some punches runs the ropes and tries a sunset flip but Basham drops down hooking Henson with a legscissors while applying a canvas wristlock and Henson taps out. Funaki vs Orlando Jordan w/Jillian Hall
I guess WWE have remembered OJ was alligned with JBL hence Jillian Hall's presence for this match. OJ begins by backing and trapping Funaki in the corner where he unloads with some elbows to the head. OJ whips Funaki to the corner misses a charge and Funaki scores with an armdrag and side headlock. OJ tries to send Funaki off the ropes but Funaki grabs ahold of OJ's fro and keeps the headlock applied. OJ sends Funaki off the ropes and catches a cross body attempt and delivers a swinging side backbreaker. OJ with some stomps then makes Funaki eat some boot before clubbing him in the ropes. OJ with a snapmare and knee to the back picks up Funaki and traps him in a bearhug. Funaki fights his way out, OJ blocks a whip attempt and reverses then hits Funaki with the Johnson shuffle punches. OJ covers for a nearfall. OJ stomps then clubs the back of Funaki and hits a kidney punch before re-applying the bearhug. Funaki fights free again, OJ knees the gut and attempts a back suplex but Funaki punches away and counters with a cross body. OJ grabs a leg, Funaki connects with an enziguiri. Funaki gets to his feet and nails a bulldog. Funaki grabs OJ's hair, OJ with a boot and swinging neckbreaker stalks Funaki then hits a lung buster for the 1-2-3. An OJ showcase. Armageddon picks: RANDY ORTON, BATISTA & REY MYSTERIO, KID KASH, CHRIS BENOIT, JBL, MNM. I've heard Boogeyman vs Sylvan and Lashley vs Regal and Burchill is also taking place so in those cases I pick BOOGEYMAN & LASHLEY.
