Jim Ross returned to the RAW brand at WWE Backlash in April. Joey Styles called the pre show match on Heat but was excused before the pay-per-view. Styles then quit the next night on RAW and is now expected to head ECW as the lead announcer, while a co-host is yet to be named.
Ross has been vocal about not wanting a three-man set up at the announcing table. Thus explains the Coach’s absence at Backlash and RAW recently. WWE believes the broadcast switch will accentuate the strengths of the involved parties where Joey will be able to call matches as he did in ECW when he was produced by Paul Heyman.
