Hello Rajah, or whoever there will be reading this. I hope you guys post this so I'm
not wasting my time typing it up. Rajah knows me. We go back a long time. I'm
CaptAce. I've been using this site since the beginning.
I went to the Raw House Show in Sacramento Saturday night. I thought it was pretty
good. It was my first time going since Stone Cold's first title reign in an May
1998 event in San Jose. Here are the results and my thoughts on the show.
Before the show started, the crowd was getting anxious, and a series of Ric Flair
woooo's erupted. Too bad he wasn't there.
1. Goldust & Snitsky VS Cade & Murdoch
The crowd started by booing Snitsky, since he hasn't been on tv much, they didn't
notice he was a good guy now, until they realized that he was facing Murdoch & Cade,
who they booed more. Snitsky got the pin after a big boot.
2. Charlie Haas VS Rob Conway
Decent match. Haas won with a roll-up. As Haas celebrated down the aisle. Umaga
came out and attacked him.
3. Umaga VS Eugene
Armando Alejandro Estrada got on the mic, saying that Haas, Flair, all of the crowd,
and even the Sacramento Kings were losers. That got a big boo in the the Kings home
court. Estrada did some foreign cussing, and drew a lot of heat. The crowd did a
major pop when Eugene's music hit. However Umaga destroyed him, starting by ramming
into the ringpost on the outside, the butt-smash in the corner. And to me, the
dumbest finisher ever, the thumb spike. Eugene maybe got in two punches the whole
match. The crowd was really disappointed.
4. Torrie & Maria VS Victoria & Mickie James
Candice Michelle was the special ring announcer, and announced Victoria as her
lover, and they kissed before the match. To my surprise, Mickie got a lot of cheers
on her way to the ring. Good match. Torrie performed the stinkface to Victoria,
Maria did the bronco buster. Torrie won with a roll-up reversal when Victoria had
her set for the widow's peak. The fans were looking for Trish to make a run-in, but
she didn't appear.
Matt Striker's class room was next. He introduced us to a new WWE superstar. When
he said something like Olden Brudence, the crowd went "Who?" "Who?" He was a big
russian guy in a Soviet Uniform, which immediately drew USA chants. He interviewed
the Russian a little. The crowd couldn't understand his accent, so they started
chanting "What?" "What?" Striker starting lecturing about immigrants and how all
the crowd was selfish immigrants, The russian guy had enough and gave Striker a hard
clothesline, which the crowd loved. On his exit from the ring, the russian slipped
down the stairs, and the crowd laughed.
5. Carlito VS Chris Masters
I don't why, but the crowd cheered Masters during his entrance, but I think they
cheered for Carlito more. I've been waiting for Carlito to turn into a face, he
should be good in that role. I hope they let him do more comedy on tv. During the
match Carlito applied the Masterlock to Masters, Masters broke it. I was surprised
when Carlito won with a roll-up, I expected Masterpiece to win.
Intermission- I found this weird, the intermission should have been more in the
middle of the show, not near the end.
6. RVD vs Shelton Benjamin
Shelton got a little mic time before RVD came out to a huge pop. I thought there
would be an ECW chant during this match, but I only heard a couple of people, but
there were RVD chants. I was looking forward to this match. These are two of the
most athletic stars in the business today. I enjoyed it, but it seemed way short,
probably because the Calito match was long. RVD won with his 5-star frog splash.
7. 4 on 2-Spirit Squad vs Viscera and Big Show
I think the Spirit Squad is stupid, and I was hoping they wouldn't have a match, but
they changed my mind. This was the most entertaining match of the night. The Big
Show drew the biggest pop of the night. Before the match he stole one of the squads
tight white shirts, and put it on. Show posed in the really small shirt. Show and
Vis were tossing around the squad the whole match. Just when the Big Show was ready
to finish the match, a squad member pulled down the top rope, and Show fell to the
outside. The Spirit squad quadruple-teamed Viscera, and got the pin. After the
match Viscera got the Big Show to do the Rick Rude hip rotation.
8. Cena vs HHH vs Edge
Special referee Ricky the Dragon Steamboat came out first, followed by Edge and
Lita. Lita opened her shirt in front of Steamboat to try to influence him into
helping Edge win. Steamboat motioned for the ejection, to send Lita backstage.
Edge didn't like that and speared Steamboat. Steamboat was helped to the back, and
we got a different ref. Lita stayed at ringside. HHH came out to cheers and boos.
I'd say 70%-30% cheers to boos. Cena got about 85%-15% cheers to boos. Decent
match. I don't really like 3-man matches. A one on one main event would have been
better. Each time someone used a finisher and was about to get a pin, the third guy
broke it up. Another ref got injured during the match, and when HHH didn't get a
pin, he punched out a third ref. HHH got his SledgeHammer from under the ring, but
it wasn't used until after the match. Cena eventually pinned Edge after a FU, which
Steamboat ran back out just in time to count. Then HHH used the sledgehammer on
Cena, an
d did the DX chop. Cena was the last to exit, and did some posing on the turnbuckles
No shows: HBK, Kane(must be in southern California, promoting his movie), Flair,
Trish, Foley, I thought maybe Chavo would be there.
