Commentators: Todd Grisham & Jonathan Coachman
Welcome back people. Vince McMahon's right hand man is back in the Heat saddle with some interesting commentary throughout. In a nutshell he's evaluating the Heat talent, seeing who can be promoted onto Raw. He also hints at people being creative and breaking out to get noticed and making people care about them (which will get people over). Should be interesting as the Wrestlers generally get more time with less limitations on Heat but they still have limitations. First out of the chute this week is..........
Trevor Murdoch vs Colt Cabana
Colt assumes the face role after playing the heel on Velocity. Colt starts with the old Barry Horowitz pat on the back. Murdoch checks out Colt's ring attire before slapping him in the face and into the corner. Murdoch advances punching Colt down before Irish whipping and following in with a backelbow. Murdoch sends Colt off the ropes, Colt telegraphs a backbodydrop with a boot to the head. Murdoch counters a clothesline attempt with a full nelson slam before driving Colt into the ringpost twice. Murdoch steps onto the apron before dropping down and yanking Colt's back/neck down across the top rope. Murdoch gets in plays to the crowd to boos then kicks Colt. Murdoch with an Irish whip charges into an uppercut then a boot. Colt charges into a drop toehold. Murdoch slugs at Colt's face before picking up Colt hanging him in a tree of woe position going out and pulling at his neck. The referee frees Colt. Murdoch gets Colt up in a neckbreaker position but opts to drive an elbow into his neck. Murdoch drives a knee into Colt's back before applying a chinlock then a head vice. Colt gets up, Murdoch traps in a front facelock, Colt punches free before landing a clapping blow to Murdoch's head. Colt attempts a sunset flip, Murdoch keeps his balance and drops a fist. Murdoch gets Colt up to punch him into the ropes. Murdoch goes for a neckbreaker but Colt counters by holding onto the ropes and Murdoch falls down. Colt fires some punches, Murdoch reverses off the ropes, Colt ducks a clothesline before nailing a flying one of his own. Colt fires up sends Murdoch off the ropes but Murdoch hangs on telegraphing a dropkick attempt. Colt crashes down, Murdoch takes advantage booting the gut then spiking Colt with a DDT for the 1-2-3. Not a bad match by Murdoch's standards. I could see a role for Colt in WWE. Here is Your Winner: TREVOR MURDOCH.
Rob Conway vs Viscera
Grisham notes Justin Roberts is announcing Heat and makes reference to Lilian Garcia's injury (Sprained Wrist) from Raw brought on by Charlie Haas. I smell a ready made angle here between Haas and Viscera. Haas is flat with the crowd at the moment. Maybe a heel turn and feud with Viscera is the solution as neither are doing much at the moment. Viscera receives a nice reception. Conway attacks him on the apron with a double axehandle and punches. Conway mounts the second rope aiming punches at Viscera's head. Viscera retaliates with a slap to the chest and shove. Viscera removes his ring garb and Conway staggers him again with more punches. Conway charges into a Viscera punch, Viscera finally gets in slaps Conway in the corner then hiptosses. Conway to the corner, Viscera pumps it up, Conway avoids a charge but Viscera puts the brakes on motioning him using his head. Viscera slams Conway but misses an elbow off the ropes allowing Conway to kick Viscera in the head. Conway drops a series of elbows then stomps. Conway drops a knee goes outside and pounds on Viscera's head which is draped out on the apron. Conway forearms Viscera to the mat gets back in and lands an elbow from the second rope for a nearfall. Conway punches the head, kicks the chest then applies a chinlock with his knee wedged into Viscera's back. Conway breaks off to pound at the head before re-applying the resthold. Viscera gets to his feet. Conway with some forearms runs the ropes into a Viscera rolling heel kick. Viscera pumps it up before splashing Conway in the corner. Conway rebounds off the ropes into a swinging side slam. Viscera turns Conway over gives him a wedgie then performs Visagra after a little gyration. Conway walks up into the Sex Drive for the 1-2-3. A nothing match. Here is Your Winner: VISCERA.
Johnny & Nicky w/Kenny, Mikey & Mitch vs Goldust & Snitsky
Non title Main Event. First Heat appearance for the Squad who come out in force with their airhorn but sans the trampoline. Instant Heat for the Squad and lots of anti Spirit Squad signs are shown in the crowd. Mitch cracks me up by the way. Big pops for SnitskyDust/The Freakshow. Goldust begins with Johnny who sticks his head outside to keep Goldust away. The Squad's airhorn goes off throughout by the way. Lockup, Goldust takes Johnny to the corner and breathes/spits in his face. Johnny shoves, boots the gut gaining the advantage with a side headlock and shoulder tackle. Goldust punches back before hitting a butt shot off the ropes. Nicky tags in knees the gut and talks trash to Goldust. Nicky with punches, Goldust blocks a corner ram turning the tables on Nicky before ramming him into a second corner then mounting for a successful ten punch assault. Nicky reverses off the ropes, Goldust hits a drop down shot to the throat then an inverted atomic drop and a flying clothesline off the ropes. Goldust grabs an arm points and tags in Snitsky who kicks at the arm before delivering a long delayed vertical suplex for a nearfall. Nicky manages to escape and make a tag after raking Snitsky's face. Johnny applies a side headlock but gets floored after a shoulder tackle attempt. Snitsky with a hiptoss counter after some rope movements. Snitsky hits a delayed slam followed by an elbow off the ropes for a nearfall. Johnny telegraphs a backbodydrop with a kick to the head. Nicky tags in but walks into a gorilla press slam. Snitsky misses a corner charge. Kenny comes in illegally and he and Nicky drive Snitsky's shoulder into the corner as the referee is tied up with Goldust and the rest of the Spirit Squad on the outside. Nicky and Johnny work over Snitsky's arm/shoulder for a while. Kenny gets involved again as Johnny distracts the referee. Johnny and Nicky stay on the arm, Snitsky fights out of Nicky's armbar but Nicky droptoeholds and keeps Snitsky isolated while Johnny taunts before dropkicking Goldust on the apron. Goldust runs in causing a referee distraction allowing the Spirit Squad to double team Snitsky with stomps. Johnny applies a cross armbar to Snitsky who forearms free but the Squad cause another distraction. Johnny rakes the face, Snitsky hits the ropes, Nicky kicks the back and Johnny lands a dropkick. Goldust makes the save on the subsequent cover. Johnny holds Snitsky down for a Nicky legdrop for a nearfall. NIcky gets a second nearfall after an armwringer drop move. Snitsky tries to fight back but is isolated by the Squad again. Johnny ties up Snitsky's arm again and drop toeholds him as he tries to fight his way free and tag out. Snitsky is dragged to the Squad corner. Nicky steps off a crouched Johnny but Snitsky avoids the corner splash boots away a charging Johnny and finally makes the hot tag after kicking Nicky away. Goldust catches a charging Nicky with a powerslam 1-2-broken up by Johnny. Snitsky has recovered sufficiently now to hit Johnny. Snitsky charges but Johnny pulls down the top rope and Snitsky goes sailing to the outside. Goldust has Nicky ready for the Curtain Call, Nicky slips behind distracting the referee as Kenny and Mitch trip Goldust coming off the ropes. Nicky lifts Goldust as Johnny delivers the Johnny-go-round kick and Nicky covers to end a really heated main event on Heat. Match went long by Heat standards around 11-12 minutes. Here Are Your Winners: THE SPIRIT SQUAD. Thumbs up from me for this week's show due to the Main Event.
