WWE House Show Results (6/16/06) - Hartford, Connecticut

Report by: DasN0TCool, rajah.com reader

For a house show, this was the best house show I've ever been to, and I've
been going for 13 years to event. This show was just incredible. I'll be
attending the RAW House Show this Sunday also (6/18), and Smackdown/ECW on Tuesday
(6/20), so I'll be sure to send you the report. The House Show was in Hartford,
CT at the Hartford Civic Center and it was pretty packed. Anyone, the opening
bell sounds.

Match #1: Rob Conway Vs. Eugene
Conway comes out to a ton of boo's, and then Eugene comes out and does his
usual routine. The match wasn't bad, and Conway dominated most of the match. The
end of the match came when Eugene did the Hogan Routine with the punches, big
boot, and leg drop, but Conway kicked out. Eugene then picked up Conway for
the Rock Bottom, but it was countered. Eugene then hit the Stone Cold Stunner
for the 3 Count.
WINNER: EUGENE

The Lights go out and green lights circle the arena and we here "Are You
Ready?". The Crowd goes crazy, but then nothing happens. Damn teaser.

Match #2: The Highlanders Vs. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch
The Highlanders reminded me alot of the Bushwhackers when I saw then, from
the way they walked, and the fact that they used the Bushwhackers finishing move
in the middle of the match. Anyway, alot of beard scratching from the
Highlanders, as well as a pretty so so match. Cade and Murdoch kept arguing on the
outside of the ring. Anyway, the Highlanders win it when one of them climbed the
top rope, and the other launched them off into a splash on Trevor Murdoch.
This got the pin fall.
WINNERS: THE HIGHLANDERS

Match #3: Umaga (w/Armando Alejandro Estrada) Vs. Viscera
Usual routine from Armando. This match was real short, and Umaga won it with
a roll up I believe. After the match, Viscera stayed in the ring for a few
minutes laying there talking to the referee. I don't know if it was a minor
injury or not, as he got up to a pretty big ovation before exiting.
WINNER: UMAGA

Match #4: Carlito Vs. Johnny Nitro (w/Melina)
I really wanted to see Shelton Benjmain, but oh well. Carlito was hilarious
in this match pulling the stuff he pulled, and when he got pissed off that
Melina took his apple. The match was actually really good, and went about 10-15
minutes. The match came to an end when Melina got up on the apron to distract
the referee when Carlito had the pin. Carlito got up, and Nitro went to irish
whip Carlito into Melina, but Carlito reversed, and Nitro stopped right in front
of Melina at the last second. Carlito took advantage and hit the Back Cracker
for the pin. This was a really good match with a lot of incredible moves from
both guys.
WINNER: CARLITO

The Classroom with Matt Striker
Matt Striker is the greatest. He came out and cut a promo saying how his
guest tonight was a man who he has idolized since he was 7 years old. A man who
will undoubtedly go down in the history of the business as one of the greatest,
if not the greatest ever... HIMSELF. This got a really huge round of boo's. He
then said his guest was susposed to be Hacksaw Jim Duggan, but Umaga took
care of him on Monday Night. Hacksaw then came out to a big ovation and got the
crowd doing the "HOO's" and the "U-S-A!" for a few minutes. He then knocked
Striker down and chased him out with the 2x4

INTERMISSION

The Lights go out again and green lights circle the arena and we here "Are
You Ready?". The Crowd goes crazy, but then nothing happens again. Lots of boo's.

Match #5: Randy Orton Vs. Kane
Alot of stalling in the beginning of this match, but for the most part it was
pretty good. Alot of stalling as in Orton running away from Kane for the
first 5 minutes. The match came to an end when Orton was down, Kane was about to
finish it off, and the imposter Kane's music hit, and Kane leaned over the
ropes calling him in. The music stopped, Orton was up, Kane turned around and
recieved an RKO for the pin. Orton then left, and the 2 Kane's battled it to the
backstage.
WINNER: RANDY ORTON

Match #6: Bra and Panties Tag Team Match - Candice Michelle & Mickie James
Vs. Torrie Wilson & Maria
Great kind of match live as always. The Coach came down to a lot of heat and
was the special guest ring announcer. He always announced the DX Vs. Spirit
Squad main event of the evening. The match was real good to look at, but had the
quality of actual wrestling that you would expect. Candice Michelle & Mickie
James won it, but Torrie stripped down Candice after the match anyway. So,
thank you Torrie. Candice & Mickie were still in the ring, and Coach comes in and
tells Candice its alright, and puckers up for a kiss. Candice gets in close
but then pushes Coach over Mickie who is behind him on all fours. The two leave
laughing at Coach who is pissed in the ring.
WINNERS: CANDICE MICHELLE & MICKIE JAMES

The Lights go out a third time and green lights circle the arena and we here
"Are You Ready?". The Crowd goes crazy AGAIN, but then nothing happens. Boo's
are even worse.

Match #7: No Disqualification - John Cena Vs. Edge
I hate Cena more than the next guy, but this match was incredible. It went
about 35-40 minutes, and reminded me alot of the Cena/JBL I Quit Match at
Judgment Day 2005. Edge didn't have Lita with him. The match was real back and
forth. There was alot of crowd fighting, and the only weapons really used were the
steel steps and the microphone and its cord. Both Cena & Edge were thrown into
the front row at one point. John Cena was bleeding real bad, it was
incredible. Edge dominated the end of the match, and did some hilarious work on the
microphone during the match when Cena was down, kind of like The Rock used to do.
The match came to a close when Edge set up the steel steps in the corner,
went to Irish whip Cena into them, but it was reversed. Cena then hit the F-U in
the middle of the ring for the win. Even though I was all for Edge, it was an
excellent match.
WINNER: JOHN CENA

Match #8: 2 Vs. 5 Handicap Match - Shawn Michaels & Triple H Vs. The Spirit
Squad
This match was incredible, and it was awesome seeing the original DX live
again, as I hadn't since a RAW in 1998. The Spirit Squad came to the ring and cut
a promo. Then the DX music hit, and both Michaels & Helmsley came down
wearing the DX shirts, with the music, lights, everything; it was a really cool
entrance. Triple H got on the mic and did the thing from the old days, "For the
thousands in attendance, and the millions NOT watching at home (this got a big
laugh from the crowd), lets get ready to Suck It!". He then looks down at the
ring and sees all of Cena's blood and says "Shawn, I think the Spirit Squad had
their periods." Then there were more pre-match antics from DX. They took
rubber gloves, blew them up, and gave the Squad the finger with the gloves. Cool
stuff. The match was real good and went about 25 minutes. Great teamwork by DX,
and the match came to a close when Shawn Michaels finally got the "hot tag"
to Triple H, who came in and dominated all members of the Spirit Squad. Then,
only DX and Mikey and Johnny remained in the ring. At the same time, Hunter
pedigree'd Johnny while Michaels gave Mikey some Sweet Chin Music. Triple H got
the pin on Johnny. Excellent match, excellent entrance and stuff by DX, and an
awesome way to close the show.
WINNERS: SHAWN MICHAELS & TRIPLE H (D-GENERATION-X)
