Hello there! I went to the ECW house show at the Glens Fall Civic Center in
Glens Falls, New York 8/27/06. Here are the results:
1st Match: Rene Dupree vs Balls Mahoney
Winner: Balls Mahoney at 6:10. Pretty good match, Dupree got boos and people
were yelling "Go back to France!" Mahoney was cheered loudly.
2nd Match: One guy in red pants and one guy in shorts (didn't catch their
names) vs
Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke
Winners: Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke at 10:19 by double teaming. Decent
match, the other guys got chants of "You can't wrestle." Guido and Tony were
pretty impressive.
3rd Match: Kevin Thorn w/ Ariel vs Stevie Richards
Winner: Kevin Thorn at 8:52. Ok match, Kevin also got chants of "You can't
wrestle."
4th Match: Matt Striker vs CM Punk
Winner: CM Punk at 10:27 by submission. Pretty good match. CM Punk is very
impressive. He got loud pops, especially when he dove through the ropes onto
Striker.
Next up, a bikini contest between Francine and Kelly Kelly. Kelly Kelly
wins. Mike Knox comes out. Francine tries to run away, but Knox grabs her hair.
Sandman's music starts and he comes out of the crowd. He covers most of the
arena. The announcer says that it is not an extreme match and fans are
disappointed. The ref takes Sandman's cane away.
5th Match: Mike Knox vs Sandman
Winner: Sandman at 5:47 with the White Russian Leg Sweep. Ok match. Sandman
got LOUD pops, Knox was booed and got some chants of "You can't wrestle" as
well.
Intermission
Tommy Dreamer comes out. He talks about how that they're are 2,733 people at
the event and how that he or the Sandman or any of the wrestlers didn't make
ECW; he said it was the fans. Then he talks about how he's sick of getting
screwed over by Mike Knox and Test. Test comes out.
6th Match: Tommy Dreamer vs Test
Winner: Test at 11:15 with his finisher. Pretty decent match. Test got
chants of "Steroids" and Dreamer was definitely a fan favorite that night.
7th Match: Hardcore Holly vs RVD
Winner: RVD at 9:50 by reversing Holly's roll-up.
After the match, Holly is pissed and he gives RVD the Alabama Slam. Nice
match. Holly got some mixed reactions when he first came out, but was booed
later. RVD was also another fan favorite that night.Oh, and on a side note, some
fan through a cup with beer at the ring. Security kicked them out.
8th Match: Main Event. Sabu vs Big Show for the ECW World Title (Extreme
Rules)
Winner: Big Show at 6:20 by choke slamming Sabu into a table. Kind of a
quick match, but was pretty good. Obviously, Sabu was cheered loudly while Big
Show was booed.
Overall, an entertaining event. After, Balls Mahoney was outside signing
autographs. He was very friendly.
