I attended the Raw house show at the Canton Civic Center this past Friday. The
energy was off the map! It was the first time WWE has been to Canton in 11 years
and after this show, I would imagine they'll be back much sooner next time. The
crowd was red hot all night. At the beginning of the show, Howard Finkle announced
that Mr. McMahon has ordered DX to wrestle 3 seperate matches, much to the delight
of everyone in attendence. Here we go.
+ Hacksaw Jim Duggan pinned Rob Conway with the running clothesline.
+ Trish Stratus & Torrie Wilson def. Lita & Melina.
+ Oleg Prudis def. Eugene (I didn't see how this one ended, I was at the merch
table).
+ Johnny Nitro def. Jeff Hardy and Carlito to retain the Intercontinental title.
Jeff hit the Swanton on Carlito, only to get tossed out by Nitro, who pinned
Carlito.
+ The Highlanders def. The Spirit Squad in a non-title match.
When DX's music hit, the pop from the crowd was so loud my ears hurt the rest of
the night and into the next day. It was amazing, by far the loudest pop I've ever
heard at a live show.
+ DX def. Viscera & Charlie Haas.
+ DX def. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch.
After the match, Cade and Murdoch attacked HHH, and with the help of Viscera and
Haas, fought HHH all the way to the back leaving Michaels alone in the ring for
Umaga.
+ DX "defeated" Umaga (although it was actually Umaga vs. Michaels until HHH came
down and attacked Umaga, which technically would've given Umaga the DQ win, but
who am I to question? DX are declared the winners.)
+ Edge def. John Cena in a last man standing match to retain the WWE title. It
took a low blow from Lita and a shot with the steel ring steps to keep Cena down.
Biggest pop:
DX (by far)
Jeff Hardy
Most heat:
Spirit Squad (when they trash talked Canton)
