WWE SmackDown Report: 3 November 2006 – Milwaukee, Wisconsin

SmackDown rolled into Milwaukee, Wisconsin as the march toward Cyber Sunday as The Brothers of Destruction, Kane and The Undertaker, were reunited after five long years to take on two of SmackDown's biggest egos, Ken Kennedy and Montel Vontavious Porter in tag team action.

After ducking Kane and continually getting himself disqualified or counted out, MVP was set to take on Kane in a No Disqualification match last week on SmackDown. Enacting an 'illness clause' in his contract, Mr. Kennedy took on The Monster in MVP's stead. The infirmed MVP would later appear in the night to help Kennedy deal Kane his first loss as a SmackDown competitor. Tired of MVP's shenanigans, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long made the match for tonight and it delivered as promised.

As singles competitors, both The Undertaker and Kane stand tall over most of the SmackDown locker room; however, together, they dominated the match, allowing neither Kennedy nor MVP to mount any serious offense.

For reasons known only to MVP and Kennedy, both men got themselves counted out. Feeling that the fans deserved to see a match, Long restarted the bout, this time making it a No Count Out match. Trying to outsmart, the General Manager, MVP and Kennedy got themselves disqualified. Long, wanting to deliver high-quality matches to the fans, restarted the match once more, making it a No Disqualification match.

Trying to one-up each other. Both Kane and The Undertaker decimated their opponents. Reminding fans while they are considered one of the most dominating forces in the WWE, The Brothers decimated both Kennedy and MVP for the win.

Tonight fans witnessed the return of Rey Mysterio, who sources say, was to announce his retirement from the WWE. Instead, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion said that he would return after knee surgery and that he quit in his match against Chavo Guerrero with the hopes of fighting again.

"Together we are going to climb that mountain again," Mysterio promised.

Unhappy that Rey would not be leaving SmackDown permanently, Chavo and Vickie Guerrero made their way to the ring. Goading Mysterio into an altercation, Guerrero savagely attacked the former champion until Chris Benoit came to Mysterio's aid.

Another superstar needing aid was WWE World Heavyweight Champion King Booker. After beating back challengers from all sides, SmackDown champion will be part of history as he participates in the Champions of Champions match at Cyber Sunday. In an effort to keep the champion healthy. Theodore Long appointed The Animal to watch over SmackDown's royals. In return for his service, Batista will get an opportunity to settle his differences with Finlay next week on SmackDown.

With rumors that both ECW and Raw talent were coming to take out SmackDown's world champion before Cyber Sunday, Long was taking no chances. And Long's hunches were true as The Animal tore into superstars coming to injure SmackDown's representative.

Still fired up, Batista called out Finlay, looking to start his match with the Irish brawler a week earlier. Security came out to separate the two.

SmackDown Tag-Team Champions Kendrick London saw action tonight as they took on K.C. James and Idol Stevens. The challengers grabbed the early advantage, but it would be the champion's controlled chaos that allowed them to pick up the win in the non-title contest.

In another non-title contest, Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms took on everyone's boy, Jimmy Wang Yang. Helms—the longest-reigning champion in sport entertainment history—looked to end the match early as he worked to put away Yang.

However, the self-professed redneck looked impressive as he used his athleticism to battle back against Helms. Accompanied to the ring by WWE Diva Finalist Amy, Wang was able to pin the champion, though the referee was distracted by Sylvan. This allowed Helms to pick up the win.

As Sylvan and Helms continued their assault on Yang, Matt Hardy rushed the ring to make the save. With Hardy's history with Helms and Yang's confrontations building with Sylvan, both matters look to be settled in the future.

While on the subject of settling matters. 2006 Diva Search Champion Layla El looked to settle a score with both Kristal Marshall and Mike "The Miz" Mizanin. With the worlds toughest man in a dress, Vito (who will be appearing in Playgirl Magazine) she took on Marshall and Mizanin in an Inter-gender Tag Match.

While El did not pick up the win, she gained a small measure of revenge as the Bogeyman appeared to torment Kristal once more. Abandoned by The Miz for the second time in as many weeks, Kristal fell victim to the eerie Bogeyman who, in addition to striking cold fear into Kristal's soul, spit worms into the Diva's face.

Another superstar who spat, this time in the face of the fans was Tatanka. After savagely attacking Bobby Lashley Last week, the honorary Lakota Tribe member, sporting a new look, said that he was "tired of the grave injustices made against him and his people." He went on to say that he "was going to take back what was his."

Lashley, taking out his frustrations on Jamie Noble, destroying the smaller man in the process for an easy victory, wanted Tatanka to get in the ring. However, tonight was not the time as Tatanka just stood in the entrance way.
