The Honky Tonk Man's web manager and booking agent has contacted numerous websites regarding the recent news of a WWE Legends deal - which is actually false. He didn't actually sign a WWE Legends deal, which would require him to sign over his name and intellectual property to WWE, not to mention that WWE would always receive a small fee and a percentage of their indy bookings. Also, if a person decided to write a book, it would have to be cleared through WWE. However, The Honky Tonk Man has signed a deal with Jakks Pacific to simply produce a Honky Tonk Man action figure(s). This is completely different from signing a WWE Legends contract. Also, that's why action figures on the likes of the Ultimate Warrior and Bruno Sammartino have been made in the past.
Its been reported that Jim Ross has been working without a WWE contract as of late. Well, the web manager of Jim Ross' official website, jrsbarbq.com, said that's not true. His webmaster posted the following message regarding J.R.'s contract status: Also, many websites are reporting that J.R. is working without a contract with his present employer which is not true.
