WWE House Show Results (8/3/07) - Huntington, West Virginia

WWE Raw house show
August 3, 2007
Big Sandy Superstore Arena - Huntington, West Virginia

Show kicks off at 7:30 sharp.. actually on time for once in Huntington.
Pretty good size crowd, the arena holds about 8,000. I'd say there were
about 5,000 to 6,000 there, WAY more than the last time WWE was in
Huntington, an ECW brand house show. That was the night RVD and Sabu got
busted, just over a year ago. Anyway, on to the results...

- Justin Roberts comes out to the Raw theme music and welcomes us to the
show..
1. Cody Rhodes def. Daivari.
- Justin Roberts selected a kid from the front row to be a guest manager
later in the show.
2. William Regal def. Super Crazy.
3. Hacksaw Jim Duggan (w/ the kid from the crowd) def. Sylvan (w/Maryse).
4. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch def. The Highlanders (Rory and Robbie
McAllister) to retain the World Tag Team Championship.
- Then came a 10-or-so-minute intermission, after which Justin Roberts
plugged Mr. McMahon's return this Monday on Raw.
5. Candice Michelle def. Jillian Hall to retain the Women's Championship.
Val Venis was the guest referee.
6. Umaga def. Santino Marella to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
7. King Booker (w/Queen Sharmell) def. Jerry Lawler. Before the match,
Booker cut a promo on Lawler and said Lawler hadn't shown up. The King then
came out in a navy blue tank top and jeans. He said he flew from Memphis to
Charleston, West Virginia this afternoon (about 50 miles east of Huntington)
and Delta Air Lines lost his luggage, which had all his gear in it, so he
went to Wal-Mart and got a tank top and some Wrangler jeans. Hey, at least
he didn't have to borrow Daivari's gear like Sabu.
8. John Cena def. Randy Orton to retain the WWE Championship. I would say
this is one of the best house show matches I have ever seen. Cena got the
win with the FU after a match mostly dominated by Orton, which lasted
between 20 to 25 minutes. If this match is this good in three weeks, we
could have a good SummerSlam main event.
- After his win, Cena said West Virginia (and I'm sure every other state
too) has a special place in his heart. He then, as he has in the past, sang
John Denver's "Take Me Home, Country Roads" to close the show.

The show ended just a couple of minutes before 10pm, and seemed a bit rushed
at times, but it was still solid, especially for a house show. Biggest heat
was for William Regal, Cade and Murdoch, Booker, and for Jillian when she
sang the first lines of "Hot Bread" to Val Venis before being shut up by
Candice. Biggest pops were for Cena (by a HUGE margin, he was over MAJOR, I
thought I was gonna go deaf when his music hit), Umaga, Super Crazy and
Jerry Lawler. I had fun, this was my first WWE show in about nine months.
