Dr. Carlon Colker, who runs Peak Wellness, has filed a defamation lawsuit against attorney Ann Callis.
Callis is currently representing Janel Grant in a high-profile case against WWE, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis. Grant’s lawsuit includes serious allegations of sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and misconduct in the workplace. As part of those claims, her legal team has accused Colker and Peak Wellness of playing a role in the abuse by giving her unapproved treatments, providing unknown substances, and helping McMahon maintain control over her. They also allege that Peak Wellness hasn’t turned over all of Grant’s medical records.
In response, Colker filed a 41-page complaint in U.S. District Court in Connecticut on Friday. His legal team claims that Callis and the Holland Law Firm defamed him and his clinic through media press releases and statements made during a live-streamed press conference on YouTube. The lawsuit includes emails they say show all of Grant’s medical records were handed over last summer. Colker’s side also denies that Grant was given any unidentified substances and says she left the clinic in 2022 without raising any concerns.
Colker is now seeking punitive damages, claiming that Callis and her firm knowingly made false statements about him and his business.
As of now, Callis hasn’t publicly responded to the lawsuit.
