During the latest edition of the Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed a fan question about the possibility of AEW consolidating its multiple championships. However, it seems fans shouldn't expect this to happen anytime soon.
Sapp noted that he hasn't heard any discussions within AEW regarding the consolidation of its numerous titles. Still, he mentioned that many people in the promotion he has spoken to support the idea or have liked his comments about it on social media.
He emphasized that wrestlers should not have such fragile egos that they cannot engage in a storyline without a title being involved. Additionally, he pointed out that there is a lack of "cohesiveness" regarding the criteria for earning a title shot in AEW nowadays.
Currently, Darby Allin holds the AEW World Championship, while Jon Moxley is the Continental Champion. Kazuchika Okada is the International Champion, and Mark Davis recently won the National Title from Jack Perry. Lastly, Kevin Knight holds the TNT Championship.
