Backstage News On AEW’s Interest In The IInspiration Amid Recent Talent Signings

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW has been mentioned as a potential destination for The IInspiration (Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee) after they became free agents. This followed their loss to The Elegance Brand for the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Titles on the January 15th episode of TNA iMPACT on AMC.

Meltzer indicated that this loss sparked speculation about The IInspiration's next move, particularly because AEW is actively recruiting new talent in 2026. He has heard considerable chatter about McKay and Lee heading to AEW. However, Meltzer also noted that despite many signings, McKay and Lee may not be the best fit for the brand, as AEW's recent recruits have tended to focus on international wrestlers and in-ring performance.

McKay and Lee gained significant recognition during their time in WWE as The IIconics. After their release from WWE, they moved to TNA, where they captured the Knockouts Tag Team Championships and were consistently featured throughout 2024.
