Pro wrestling legend Chris Jericho was not present on last Monday night's one-year anniversary episode of WWE RAW, despite speculation about his potential return to the company. This was fueled by RAW General Manager Adam Pearce's cryptic remark during a show preview, stating, "Who can break down the walls and claim the gold?" This was a nod to Jericho’s iconic WWE entrance theme, "Break The Walls Down."
According to a report from PWInsider.com, Jericho was never scheduled to appear on the RAW episode, which took place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Furthermore, he was not even in New York that night, as he was in Los Angeles. The report clarified that Pearce's comment was a “smartly-played reference” in light of Monday’s WWE and Stranger Things crossover episode, where "breaking down the wall" alluded to the Upside Down dimension.
The report indicated that many interpreted Pearce's reference as more significant than intended, and nobody in WWE was expecting Jericho to show up on the program. Thus, the wait for Jericho’s anticipated WWE return will go on.
Jericho has had iconic stints in WWE, along with memorable runs in AEW, WCW, ECW, and wrestling promotions in Mexico. These achievements have solidified his status as one of the biggest names in the wrestling industry. Additionally, he is the lead singer of the heavy metal band Fozzy.
