CM Punk and Bron Breakker wrestled for the World Heavyweight title last night on WWE Raw in a physical match that left both men shaken and possibly injured.
Punk ended up landing face first on the floor after a suicide dive attempt while Breakker landed on his head after a botched Frankensteiner. On the latest Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez reported that an unnamed WWE star was placed in concussion protocol.
While no name was shared, Alvarez speculated that the person could be Punk as it was noted that Breakker was checked out by WWE's physicians following the match and was given the green light and cleared after the show ended. Punk's status though was much more uncertain making him likely as the wrestler who was placed in protocol, though Alvarez clarified that his understanding is that Punk was only getting checked for a concussion rather than confirmed to have suffered one.
Kairi Sane's name was also suggested as a possibility but it was noted that following their respective bumps, Punk looked worse for wear while Sane was able to continue wrestling.
