AEW held its 2026 Dynasty pay-per-view (PPV) last Sunday night, headlined by MJF defending the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, early numbers indicate that the show achieved the second-highest buy rate since AEW All In, only surpassed by AEW Revolution. While specific buy numbers weren't disclosed, the impression is that Dynasty surpassed the buy rate of AEW Worlds End, which had around 143,000 buys.
The report also highlighted that this was the first time since AEW Revolution that the numbers did not see an increase on HBO Max. Dynasty currently ranks #2 for AEW PPV purchases on HBO Max, trailing only behind Revolution. Regarding international figures, clarity is lacking due to the launch of the new streaming service MyAEW, which is available to fans outside the U.S. and Canada.
Moreover, it was noted that expectations for Dynasty were not to surpass Revolution since the latter had a major stipulation in the main event between MJF and "Hangman" Adam Page. Revolution also had a longer promotional lead time—11 weeks compared to the four weeks Dynasty had—allowing for more storytelling. Despite these factors, Dynasty is considered a success.
AEW President and CEO Tony Khan stated at the post-PPV media scrum that it has become the highest-performing Dynasty event to date, which was anticipated given that the previous iteration garnered 122,000 buys. Khan also mentioned that the event achieved the best attendance in the history of the Dynasty PPV. AEW's next event, AEW Double or Nothing, is scheduled for Sunday, May 24th, at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
