Backstage News On Reports Of Top NJPW Star EVIL Heading To WWE

According to Bryan Alvarez in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live (via WrestlingNews.co), top NJPW star EVIL may be leaving the company and could potentially sign with WWE. This news follows a report from the Super J-Cast indicating that the House of Torture leader has submitted his notice to NJPW.

EVIL has been a cornerstone of NJPW for over a decade, boasting an impressive list of accolades. He is a one-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, a one-time IWGP Intercontinental Champion, a two-time Tag Team Champion, and a six-time NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champion. Additionally, he has held the NEVER Openweight Championship four times and won the New Japan Cup in 2020. He has also secured the World Tag League title twice alongside SANADA.

Most recently, EVIL lost the NEVER Openweight Championship to Aaron Wolf at Wrestle Kingdom 20 earlier this month. Following this defeat, reports emerged that he has been exploring options outside of NJPW.
