Backstage News On Ricky Saints’ WWE NXT Future

On this past Tuesday's episode of WWE NXT, it was announced that Ricky Saints will be facing Shiloh Hill in a singles match next Tuesday night. Saints ambushed Hill during the later stages of this week’s show. Despite this confrontation, fans believe that Saints' call-up to the main roster is imminent, potentially occurring as soon as this Friday night on SmackDown.

However, BodySlam+ reports that sources within the company indicate discussions have taken place regarding Saints' promotion to the main roster. Another source mentioned that The CW would like to retain at least one established male veteran in NXT, especially after the recent loss of several talents. That veteran is currently Saints.

NXT has already lost the services of Oba Femi, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams earlier this year. Additionally, this week on RAW, the brand lost former NXT North American Champion Ethan Page and is expected to lose Joe Hendry next week, who is set to host a concert on RAW next Monday.

Saints made his WWE NXT debut in February 2025 and has since held both the NXT North American and NXT Championships. It will be interesting to see whether he appears on SmackDown this coming Friday or continues to remain with NXT for the time being.
