Recently, WWE star Johnny Gargano has been appearing on television looking quite downcast. He has been spotted backstage lying on equipment crates or sitting on a wooden crate that is scheduled to be opened at WWE Elimination Chamber later tonight. Despite attempts by his wife and fellow WWE star Candice LeRae to help him out of his funk, Gargano has been resistant to support.
Speculation about a potential character shift for Gargano has increased after the WWE Music YouTube account posted his theme music, “Comin’ Back For You,” from his previous solo heel run. Additionally, WrestlingNews.co reported that a character shirt for Gargano may be on the way. However, there are no details yet regarding the specifics of Gargano's character change, but updates will be provided as they become available.
Previously, Gargano had taken on a heel role as he aimed to prove that Axiom was “evil” after Axiom stole his mask and framed him for various incidents. Since Tommaso Ciampa left WWE and made his debut for AEW on the January 28 episode of Dynamite, Gargano has been on his own.
