During the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed recent comments made by WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash, who heavily criticized TKO for interfering with WWE booking decisions made by his friend, WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque.
Meltzer stated that TKO doesn’t significantly interfere with Triple H's booking, but when they do intervene, it often occurs at the most inconvenient times. He also referenced rumors about ESPN broadcaster Stephen A. Smith potentially getting involved with WWE. Sources at ESPN are reportedly “pleased and enthusiastic” about Smith’s possible creative involvement with WWE, with an expected payoff related to his recent coverage of WWE that was pitched for this summer.
Furthermore, Meltzer noted that while some people in WWE were unhappy about Pat McAfee being included in the WrestleMania feud between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, they are actually supportive of Stephen A. Smith internally. However, it remains to be seen what kind of creative role Smith would play in WWE. Notably, Smith recently had an interaction where he was cursed at by Danhausen, but he claimed not to be afraid of him.
