Backstage News On Why Bron Breakker Was Attacked By Mystery Man At WWE Royal Rumble 2026

At the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble premium live event on January 31, Bron Breakker experienced a surprising elimination in the Men's Royal Rumble Match. Breakker entered as the #2 contestant, widely considered a top contender to win this year's event. However, he was eliminated within seconds by the #1 entrant, the newest member of the Monday Night RAW roster, Oba Femi.

Before Breakker could even make it into the ring, he was attacked by a masked man. This assailant sent Breakker crashing into the steel steps, followed by a superkick and a series of stomps, before handing him off to Femi, who eliminated Breakker with a clothesline. WWE has not yet disclosed the identity of this attacker.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this storyline was created due to an internal belief that Seth Rollins will be ready to return in time to face Breakker at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Meltzer suggested that the mystery surrounding the masked assailant was intended to make fans suspect that Rollins was behind the attack. However, it remains unclear who the attacker truly was, with some speculating that Grayson Waller might be responsible. This rumor has not been confirmed or denied.

This development follows Rollins suffering a shoulder injury during his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel: Perth last October, leading to his removal from television after Breakker turned on him the following Monday on RAW.
