Backstage News On WrestleMania Plans For Roman Reigns And His WWE Return Status

In the main event of last Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown, Drew McIntyre defeated Cody Rhodes in a Three Stages of Hell Match, becoming the new Undisputed WWE Champion. This development adds an intriguing dynamic as WrestleMania season approaches, especially since fans have been speculating about potential changes to the match card. Rhodes was originally scheduled to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas this April.

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, although many factors are currently at play, the anticipated third match between Rhodes and Reigns is likely still set to occur at WrestleMania 42. However, Meltzer noted that it's uncertain whether the Undisputed WWE Championship will be on the line. He also suggested that if Rhodes and Reigns do not end up facing each other at the event, there is a possibility that Rhodes might confront Brock Lesnar, while McIntyre would face Reigns.

Regarding Reigns' return to WWE television, Meltzer mentioned a mistake in a TV advertisement that indicated The Tribal Chief is expected to make a comeback soon. It will be interesting to see how WWE builds up to Reigns' potential match at WrestleMania 42, especially since he has been absent from the company since Survivor Series: WarGames, where the creative team heavily teased a third match between him and Rhodes.
