According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE President Nick Khan addressed the talent before last weekend's AAA TripleMania XXXII event in Mexico City. The report mentioned that Khan stated WWE's intention was not to take over the promotion but to assist it in gaining a global audience, with the ultimate goal of increasing revenue for everyone involved.
However, multiple wrestlers expressed their hope that WWE was not planning to take control. They noted that new restrictions in their contracts complicate this situation. While wrestlers are allowed to book events in Mexico on their days off, they cannot take any bookings in the United States on the same night in a city where they regularly perform. This limitation is particularly frustrating as it could prevent them from earning significantly higher pay. Additionally, it was reported that AAA talent are seemingly barred from participating in independent Lucha or regular events in the United States, although they are permitted to do so in Mexico.
