Prior to this past weekend's WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event special, there was a lot of speculation about who would be in attendance for John Cena’s final match. Some controversial names were mentioned, including former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, who played a significant role in Cena’s career, and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump attended the Army-Navy Game in Baltimore last Saturday and frequently spends time in Washington D.C. Although Vince McMahon did not appear in person, he was featured in a video package, while his estranged wife, Linda McMahon, was present at the event.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Live, WWE had hoped that Trump would attend the Saturday Night’s Main Event, as it wouldn’t be unusual for the WWE Hall of Famer to be seen at TKO events, given his regular appearances at UFC shows.
However, the report indicated that Trump ultimately decided not to attend, which was likely the best choice for the fans present, as security could have been a challenge. The report also mentioned that Trump’s administration was still represented by figures such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Dr. Mehmet Oz, and Linda McMahon, among others.
